What you say is reasonable, and the last thing I want to do is confuse matters further, so I have removed the offending statement for my original post, which was based on my own experience.

    Thanks for the clarification Brenda.
BTW best of luck with your outstanding claim, hope your approach is successful

It is a shame that the rep from the MO hasn't posted on this thread recently so they can clear up some issues that have arisen over the last month or so.

Do you blame them, damned when they did and now damned they don't...?

Yes they disappeared at the same time that Cobra arrived. Although Cobra does make some good points and wants to be helpful, this negative effect is the worst possible to all of us on here.

forumqueries@themobileoutlet.com is the email address that used to be by far the best method of getting in touch and having problems resolved promptly.

    Just to be clear:
I am not advocating that people wait 56 days - I said I was happy to...
I received notification after 28 days that my claim was successful, and I was prepared to wait for the cheque to arrive within the timescales indicated in my confirmation email from TMO. I didn't thinkit would serve any purpose to publicly speculate what course of action I may or may not pursue if the cheque didn't arrive...

Hi Brenda, yes I can see where that statement in the cover letter would cause confusion - I worded it badly. I have removed the 21 day bit from my original post. I take no offence to constructve criticism, so no problem there.

PS. Note to Conspiracy Theorists. This computer isn’t mine: it’s used by a number of people (all highly literate) and my password is stuck to it with a Post-It note - as are a number of others. Make of that what you will but I don’t lose any sleep over it myself.

I would put money(not received cashback) on the Mobile Outlet visiting this thread to see what is going on. Let's face it, they were giving information contrary to their terms and conditions which could get people in a lot of trouble.

The issues that have arisen lately are the same ones that have always been here.

A few months ago, there were members of this site claiming all is well.

I questioned some information given out by them months ago as to them stalling, they quoted my question and gave an answer, this still has not been addressed(BACS payments).

They are only 'damned' if they do not do what is required, if they paid up in time, this thread would disappear.

What was clear about it is that it projects the attitude of somebody who hopes he will not live to rue the fact that he does not bother to insure his house because to date it has never burned down.

Does it? Hmmm, I thought it was more someone who to date hasn't had to threaten TMO with the SCC and hopes that some sanctimonious little keyboard warrior doesn't jump up and down with glee if he does. Please note, I am not saying that you would be that keyboard warrior. ;)

My own covering letter, since you ask, does run to two pages but it is amiable, covers every base, makes no reference to the SCC....

    I was close then. :rotfl:

Amid all this harrumphing I have yet to see anyone (including Grayme-m) who has been advocating that one waits 56 days for one’s cashback without doing anything about it explain what they will then actually do on the 57th day if their cashback hasn’t arrived, their next claim is looming and they haven’t taken the necessary precautions to enable themselves to pursue their outstanding claim through the courts.

Let's put this to bed now. I'd start chasing them a lot more vigorously, stepping it up and depending on the results would step it up to the point that I threaten and then take them to court.

However, on my own personal cashback I received the following from TMO:

"Dear Customer, Dear Customer We have received your 12th month bill. Please allow 28 days for response. If you have any further questions regarding the delivery of your handset, please email our customer service team. customerservice@themobileoutlet.co.uk Regards"

Lots of (sic)s could be used there, but for me the fact is that they are dealing with it. I could go back and write an epic to them about how they received that bill on the 5th May and hence they should by rights have sent me the money already, but I'm not going to.

I am grateful to all of you for showing me that there is no other sensible alternative and particularly to The Saint whose clarity of thought is consistently the thing I value most in this forum.

This would be the same thesaint that posted:

I have a right like everyone else to voice my concerns, I got my phone in December after I followed this thread for a few months, I know the risks but choose to not let them take advantage of their customers.
I have not got an 'I'm alright Jack' attitude so this approach does not work for me.

Granted, they are sorting things out, but they are not doing us a favour, that's what our contracts state they are obligated to do.
(there's a point that you have always evaded).

Should be safe enough, 'Cobra' and 'BrendaY' don't post here anymore...
