'Brenda's' very small and often repeated point is: what happens after 56 days of waiting? Because at the end of the contract payments would overlap.
Answer: You can then start on the trail of SCC proceedings. I'm sure it isn't beyond customers intelligence to be able to differentiate between payments. If, by some miracle, the final payment is made so very early. Don't burst a blood vessel because all your effort will gain you little but the refund of your costs and a few pounds lost perhaps in sweat.
I think that the point 'Brenda' makes is very small indeed and ill considered. It certainly doesn't bear an A4 sized post or constant repetition.0 -
Any chance of some input on this from The Saint, too? What he says usually makes good sense.
I'm of a similar mind as yourself.
It is for each individual to choose whether they want to give The Mobile Outlet 56 days as opposed to 28 to pay their cashback.
When there claims are all running concurrently, I won't be replying to their tales of confusion, I just hope the ones advocating such leniency are around to give advice.
As long as the advice given by people on this thread is relevant to the terms and conditions set by the Mobile Outlet all will be fine by me.
Looking at the posts recently, there are already people starting to believe that they should have a confirmation e-mail within 28 days and not their cheque/ BACS payment in the bank.
When/if the Mobile Outlet goes belly up those waiting the extra month will wish they were pro-active.

I was well pleased when I found this board and the invaluable tips it gave to ensure a cashback was successful..It really helped me with my claims.....so thanks to all genuine info providers & people who wnat to help other people...
Its a shame to see that this forum has gone downhill rapidly...
It's quite amusing to see the "points scoring" off each other....
A lot of posters seem to delight in putting others down and getting "thank yous" and hearing the sound of their own voices rather than trying to help others..
And there is the posters who think they are entitled to tell others how to behave ... I thought the board mods did that
Anyone heard the saying "no such thing as a free lunch" ?
How do you think companies like TMO can offer free phones worth £100+ and refund all of your line rental (mine is £45 per month) ???
Well there is such a thing as a free lunch ...and its thanks to people who cant/wont follow simple terms and conditions.for whatever reasons...who are paying for MY LUNCH...
I'm quite happy to wait 56 days to get ALL of my money back
I agree you shouldn't have to jump through hoops, but I'm prepared to do that...it's a small effort really

On the issue of keeping tracks on which claim is which here's how I approach it:-
Each claim is held in it's own folder, with the soft copy of the covering letter and scanned copies of the front pages of my bills showing the date of the bill, and my written annotation of what number bill it is, e.g. bill 1, bill 2 etc.
All e-mails are kept, with the Title being "order xyzabcd cashback claim x of 5"
This helps quickly and easily keep track of which claim is which, and is great for quick reference. I also state claim x of 5 in the title of the covering letters and within the text.
Hope this helps...........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

HI GJ, this is very similar to the approach I take - seems to work0

I must advise anybody reading this threadCheck the T&Cs that came with your phone and the current T&Cs on the website and try to COMPLY WITH BOTH SETS
I believe this to be poor advice. Only claim with the terms and conditions that are relevant to when you took out your contract.
Trying and failing to comply with two different terms and conditions is a quick road to a failed claim which invalidates all subsequent cashbacks.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -

My last two posts only had one/two lines that had no relevance to the MO, instead of pages, but I am only trying to stop the thread from being closed. If I don't like a post I will tell that person on the thread rather than behind their back.
Back to the topic, there is some sound advice on the end of the last page, and as thesaint says you must follow the t&c's that you get with your phone. If you don't have one you must e-mail/ring the MO and get them to send you a paper copy so you have back up in case any claims go wrong!"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

The one question that nobody who advocates (or demands) that one waits 56 days without doing anything at all has yet answered (or seemingly even addressed) is what they will then do themselves on the 57th day if their money still hasn’t arrived.
I don't know, I've not had to wait 56 days yet!I thought this was clear?
For me that's the main point, and whilst they continue to pay up with minimal intervention by me (the odd quick chasing email if I've heard nothing), I won't need formal letters before action.
My covering letter is one sentence long, is yours many sheets of paper with many references to terms and conditions and a threat of the SCC just to get the ball rolling?Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -

My T&C thats came with the phone did not include the clause stating that your original dispatch note should be included with your first cashback claim. I beleive that if I had not sent it my claimwould have been deemed invalid, and I would be in the same situation that many others are now in!!0 -
if you can comply with both sets, how can this jeopardise your claim?

My reasoning is simple, the Mobile outlet thrives on confusion, usually perpetrated by themselves, but lately by people on this board.
Your terms and conditions may not state originals are not needed, but what if the mobile outlet revises their terms and conditions to require originals?
People will remember your statement and try and comply (and fail) to get a valid claim in. All this coupled with allowing 56 days will all end in tears.
I prefer to advise people with reference to their terms and conditions.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0
