    Hello Rose

I've been reading your diary, with a cup of coffee in hand and I just want to say, you're amazing! You keep going, it's not easy, but you're still there. I'm filled with admiration. I've seen some of the kind and sensible advice you've given on other threads and it's time to take some of the advice you've given to others and not be so hard on yourself.

In the words of Arnie, I'll be back, I've subscribed!

Thanks so much Piq, welcome to my little band of stalkers!

I suppose it's much easier to give advice than to take it - you can see the issues other people are having and you can, perhaps, see a solution or at least be there as a shoulder. However, when it's YOU who are having the trauma, the old adage is true - you can't see the wood for the trees.

BR, look at alll these stalkers you have coming out of the woodwork !! :rotfl:

Dropping by quickly to agree with The Dragon, we eat Sweet Potato loads in our house, even the girls love them. DD2 gets me to keep the peelings and make Sweet Potato Fries for her that she loves as a treat when she comes in from school.

I agree its much easier to give advice than take it. Sometimes it can be difficult to follow our own words of wisdom cant it ?

I can actually see the Wood For The Trees these days whereas this time last year there really felt like no way out. I just have off days ,any many of us do where the Wood gets a little Foggy at times !! ;)

Mmm... sweet potatoes! I've heard cauliflower mash recommended as a substitute for potatoes too, though I haven't tried it.

Yeah, we like sweet potatoes - are they better for you than the usual ones then?

  • I think they're considered lower GI than white potatoes. So nice slow releasing, complex carbs. I love sweet potatoes as well.

I'm fairly sure they are lower. They make a lovely alternative topping on a shepherds pie and they are delicious in a curry.

Don't like curry but I like the idea of sweet potato mash.
Could do that instead of cheesy mash with my corned beef hash

Yes, that would work, don't overload them with butter though :naughty: as that defeats the plan and explains why I am overweight :rotfl:They don't take as long to cook as ordinary potatoes either. Let me know how they turn out.
