MUA are launching a new range of colours tomorrow based on Love Heart sweets. £2 each. I promised myself I wouldnt buy but...

I have the full range of the Muppet OPI. (my SIL got them free from a PR company friend) and I find the glitter ones a nightmare to remove esp. Rainbow connection. I love the Animalistic one from that range the best.

Glitter is a doddle to remove is you use the foil method. My boys are now used to me looking like a Borg - lol

  • Hi looking for some advice please? I bought some cheap nail foils/ sticker type things from bodycare and I am having trouble applying them - they are the ones that cover the whole nail and I'm finding they crinkle and are hard to shape, I'm really disappointed in them. Am I doing something wrong or are they genuinely just rubbish?

    Lovely thread.

My varnish used to chip after just a day so a few months ago I succumbed to gels. Now the problem is choosing a colour that I want to keep for 3 weeks!

Chocolate brown at the moment as a winter look.

I'm so rubbish at applying nail varnish! I always get on my fingers around the nail... how do you all get yours so neat?

I clean up afterwards with a small stiff brush (lip brush) dipped in remover around my cuticles

Keep your hands well moisturised generally so its easier to remove any stray varnish. I use a cotton bud dipped in remover.

If you moisturiser the skin around your fingers and cuticles with oil or balm first, the remover will not strip your skin so much.

and if you DO need to soak for any reason a few drops of nail oil in the acetone makes a huge difference. Prevents the nasty dried out and shrivelled after effects.

On another note I'm absurdly happy - someone has tracked down some Paparazzi for me. It's only a bottle of polish for goodness sake :rotfl:

I think that in general they can be hard to do.

I've had a friend ( who is an experienced nail tech) put Minx on my toes a few times. The metallics tend to be more fiddly and awkward than the non metallics.

She has it down to a fine art now but it doesn't look that easy and I've not been tempted to try myself as I think I'd make a complete hash of it. I heard the language when she was learning - I volunteered to be her practice model!
