See not even 24 hours later and I'm already chipped. I'll try the tip of giving my nails a scrub before I paint them.
Someone told me to wipe nails over with a cotton pad wetted with distilled white vinegar, so I filled a 30ml Molton Brown bottle with it and keep it in my mani bag ready for use. I think it does help as I can usually get a colour to last 3or 4 days. Opi Chip Skip is said to stop chipping by preparing the nail surface, I have not tried it.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

I have the full range of the Muppet OPI. (my SIL got them free from a PR company friend) and I find the glitter ones a nightmare to remove esp. Rainbow connection. I love the Animalistic one from that range the best.
I don't have the whole set but do own Animalistic, Meep Meep Meep and Rainbow Connection. I also bought Excuse Moi for my daughter. Wanted to get Animalistic as it reminds me of Music Hall Curtain Call which I only had a mini bottle of years ago.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. This sounds a good tip. Will give it a go. I have tried Chip Skip and it did nothing at all for me.
Ladies, the new OPI Holland collection has been released today and I am DESPERATE for two of the colours! Am at Trafford Centre on Saturday night so may have to wander into John Lewis for a little look see.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I wanted to see if anyone could advise me on a nice dark navy blue colour. Thanks
A decent copy of OPI Russian Navy is Boots No 7 Betty Blues.0 -
Another vote for OPI Russian Navy.
I use CND scrubfresh to dehydrate the nail plate before applying polish. That temporarily strips the oils off the plate, allowing the paint to adhere better. I can usually get a week out of normal polish then, unless I get bored sooner. The ingrediants are mostly acetone and alcohol so its easily replicable.
There are a couple of the Holland collection that I like the look of - Vamptastic (though its probably too close to lincoln park after dark to be worth buying) and Gouda Gouda Two Shoes. Am more excited about the China Glaze Hunger Games Collection. As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again0 -
Boots have Rimmel Pro varnish reduced + 2 for £6 . Bought a clear one as a top coat and white orchid . On the bottle it says lasts up to ten days . Thanks for the helpful tips which I've tried and will see how long they last this time . I saw some polish to give a matte finish which I haven't had before and will also look for acetone free remover . Liking all the photos + inspiring me to start using my polishes again.0

Barry M in mushroom which is well...mushroom coloured
. Rimmel I Love Lasting Finish in disco ball which is clear with multi coloured glitter in and 17 Lasting Fix in Mini skirt which I thought was plain white but it seems to have a little bit of a shimmer. None of these are what I usually go for but I thought I'd just try them out and I am loving the mushroom one!
