Yeah, you'll probably need to do the foil thing to remove it.

It comes off more easily than you would think ;). I did use an emery board lightly just to rough the surface a bit and let the acetone penetrate.

The finer the glitter, the easier it is to get smooth. The finest glitter I've used is one by Martha Stewart. One coat of clear varnish and a top coat and it was glassy smooth.

China Glaze Fairy Dust is smooth with one top coat as well, and it comes off really easily.

OPI Disco Ball Sparkle on the other hand is a real chore to remove, even using foil. The worst ever though is OPI Catch Me In Your Net, it's the devils work to get that off your nails.
  • This is the OPI Warm & Fozzie (which I posted a pic of earlier this week) with the Barry M black crackle over the top...

Jojo...thanks for the link to nailsmag, now I've got a new reason to neglect the housework, so much stuff to look at on there!

VALM...I daren't look at QVC today.

xoxo...when you use craft glitter can you get it smooth or does it stay a bit rough?

I did that same combo on my toes a few weeks ago. Looks fab, reminds me of a leopard print.

I'm glad I'm not the only one avoiding QVC today.

Liking that Warm & Fozzy colour more and more. My collection is heavy on dark reds/ corals/oranges and I'm a bit bored with them now and pink really doesn't suit me at all.

Sorry, I didn't subscribe to this thread and forgot to check back :o. I just used normal tap water but my kitchen is incredibly cold so I brought it into the front room for a good few hours before I needed to use it.
I think my NV's are getting a little bit too old as I was really struggling towards the end to get it to spread out. I did use some of DD's the night before as she got some for her birthday in November. She has a citrusy greenish yellowy one which looked fab with a berry pink one. We both really liked the look of that. I've had a lok at her fingers and she's got into an awful habit of cutting her nails herself and going way too short and she's chewing the skin around them. I've told her that I will try out marbling on her when her skin's in better condition and she's stopped cutting her nails so short. If I tried at the moment, I'm sure that I would make a horrible mess of her surrounding skin.

OMG i can't believe i've only just seen this thread. I'm a Leighton girl myself, love his stuff, 1 of undercoat, 2 of colour and his topcoat and i'm good to go and it stays put for well over a week.

    Right ladies...

In my attempt to look more feminine, I need some long lasting and hard wearing nail varnish. I work with children so subtlety is a necessary, as well as quick and doesn't chip in seconds....Also need masterclass on preparation and application.

Elfen, as above and have a look at his "starkers", best colour ever.

I've probably got 50 plus colours, thanks to one of you girls here i've just ordered some wheel colour thingy's to put my colours on.

    Starrystarry That colour looks lovely!

    Elisebutt65 Yours look so cool!

Tokkiandoliver I love the splatter design!

I also have a nail blog which I've just started, so won't share the link just yet!!

I find my nail polish usually chips within a day, whether I use top coat or not. I think that's more because at work I'm constantly dealing with keyrings and covers and allsorts; they don't really have much of a chance!

Mine are kept in a combination of a set of plastic drawers I got from Wilkinsons, and makeup bags with pouches. I'd like one of the wall racks, but I'm worried I'd give myself a heart attack if I saw them all together :rotfl:

Finally on a PC so got the last few days nails (oldest first):

  • How did I cope all those years without fast drying top coat? I've run out so I've had to resort to using some Rimmel cr*p and it's taking forever to dry. I just know I'm going to end up bashing it off something before long. Trip to Sally's at lunchtime tomorrow for some Seche Vite methinks.

I tried it a few years ago, but was useless at doing my dominant hand, so I RAOK'd my stuff to someone on a nail board, looks great if you can do it. Hope you have lots of fun.:)
