Oh god your description made me laugh till I cried - really. Did you take a picture? I really want to see it now.

Unfortunately there are no pictures, as the battery on my phone was almost down and I wanted to get shot of the mani more than I wanted to wait for the phone to charge. However, posting pics of disasters is not beneath me, so I expect there will be plenty of others in the future :D

I'm currently wearing plain old Models Own 'Concrete Mixer' and a coat of Seche Vite in the hope that it will offer my nails some protection while indulging in the not-so-great indoor sport of carpet washing today. If I've still got some nails left tonight, I will have a go at something a little bit more interesting.

I did do a mani involving striping tape (agree with the poster who said the stuff is fiddly), and was amazed when it survived Carpet Washing Phase One yesterday. It was the first time I'd used it and consequently it came out looking a bit 'experimental', so it was never destined to hang around long, but I was surprised by the staying power. I don't think I'll have time to try anything with it later, but I can see myself using it again. Anyone else messed about with it yet? Loads of us seem to have bought some.

PS. If the person who posted a link to or mentioned BYS cosmetics did it on this thread, you are responsible for my Amazon purchase of BYS Glow In The Dark Topcoat. And another Konad plate. You're a dangerous lot to know :D

backhoe...if it's holo !!!!!! you're after, it has to be GOSH 549. But it's rare so ridiculously expensive. Someone recommended the Catherine Arley ones a couple of pages back, they look nice. The Speciallita HITS range is gorgeous but you have to order them from Brazil. Holo is not a cheap habit unfortunately.

Lifeforms...the OPI gold shatter is very sparkly (once you add a top coat). They do a silver one as well but I struggle with that, it doesn't seem to shatter very well for me.

Hi Muppet_baby...welcome to the thread...I've got the OPI Muppet minis, they're gorgeous (Excuse Moi on my toes now).

starrystarry - now that is amazing. Would love a bottle of that but don't think hubby likes the 35 quid price tag of the one I just found. lol

I seem to have the same problem with marbling and stamping that you do. Trouble is I keep trying to get the same look on the blogs that I read, I'm just not sure if it's unachievable for the mere mortal!

My problem too. I seem to think I should be a professional straight away as soon as I start to learn something new.
Am going to try some marbling again later and see what happens!!

Yeah I got my bottle from Superdrug for a fiver, before it was discontinued. Doubt I'll ever be able to replace it.

Superdrug still stock GOSH, but only the current range, not the holo ones unfortunately.

I think the mirror nails are wraps rather than polish.

I've left my cable in the car for now, and I need to sweet talk the OH as *unfortunately* I ran out of nails for all the things that I saw on YT, and I did the Cath Kidston design on him... :p but I will try to post pics later. It is very amateurish compared to lots of things I've seen, but not bad for my first attempt!

I just need to justify the addition of the muppet varnishes. I like the minis set, but I also want the Fresh Frog of Bel Air. I'm usually a bargain-basement-whole-nail-in-one-colour kinda gal. But when I was younger I used to do rainbows, and dalmation print and all kinds!

Also, just looking for advice on the marbling... I am going to a wedding in a few weeks and would like to marble in the colours that will match my dress (is this too much?) And if I do this, would it be best to buy false nails? Or just do it on my real ones? Thank you :D Can see that this thread is not going to be moneysaving for me!;)
