Ar rant (with apologies) - driving in snow.
Been out today when it has been snowing and again I am astounded b the sheer idiocy of drivers who did not keep a breaking distance suitable for dry roads, never mind covered in slush. If you are one of such people with complete disregard for other road users (and yourself), then can I just tell you now what a stupid pathetic selfish idiot you are.
And on the motorway I was doing between 55 and 60 in the nearside lane, as was most traffic as driving faster would be idiotic. Except a lorry driver decided he wanted to go faster, tried undertaking me on the hard shoulder (then had to brake and move behind me as the hard shoulder ran out), so he tried overtaking properly but for him too late as his exit was approaching.
So he decided to try to ram me off the road instead. It was only because I breaked sharply and pulled into the now-resumed hard shoulder that there was no accident. What annoyed me was that a couple of hundred yards back was a police patrol car (Not Highways police or VOSA) who must have saw what happened but did !!!!!! all.
Rant over. And does the word b u g g e r really need censoring?

I feel for you I really do. We got our fair share of idiots here too who don't give a damn about anyone but themselves on the road. Just today we saw a kid in the back of his parents car all over the back seat, no seat belt on etc. When the kid flies through the windscreen one day they'll learn.
As for lorry drivers.. the english ones are normally ok but the foreign ones are ar$£wipes. Round these parts they refuse to move into the middle lane when you're trying to merge onto the motorway, most are usually on the phone etc. Then at night they're usually crawling around here looking for a place to park up and congest the place.0 -
Apologies, but where I come from that B word is not regarded as a swear word. I've done it a couple of other times in the past - I'll try not to again but can't promise!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Apologies, but where I come from that B word is not regarded as a swear word.
So a slang term for having your back door bashed in isn't a swear word where you come from?
Mind you, it is a legal term and there is even an Act with the aforementioned word in its title!
Strange swear filter on here. You can be shagged, but you can't be !!!!!!ed....British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

To be fair they don't have to. It's up to you when joining to match the speed of the traffic and join.0 -
Idiot followed me up a hill that is dodgy on a warm sunny day, narrow steep and cars parked on both sides, he was about 2 inches from my bumper if I had slid no doubt it would have been my fault...0

People don't give a damn when the roads are clear so don't see how snowy conditions will change the mindset of the selfish in our society.

In whose mind? The road was wet, not covered in ice. There is no reason NOT to go over 60. The sheer number of people who seem to think you have to slow down to 50 on a clear motorway just because there's a bit of snow on the hard shoulder or embankments is beyond belief.
Part of the reason motorways end up getting blocked because of snow is morons crawling up them needlessly.Except a lorry driver decided he wanted to go faster, tried undertaking me on the hard shoulder What annoyed me was that a couple of hundred yards back was a police patrol car (Not Highways police or VOSA) who must have saw what happened but did !!!!!! all.
Copper probably shared the same view as the lorry driver - sick of morons who think a light dusting of snow on the verges is a reason to do 50MPH on the gritted completely snow and ice free motorway.0 -

Why should the? They have the right of way. It is up to vehicles JOINING the motorway to give way to those already on it.
Perhaps the reason they don't move over is because they have a car alongside them you can't see or didn't that occur to you?
PERHAPS YOU SHOULD LEARN TO DRIVE. Its obvious you don't know how to join a motorway correctly.0 -

Why would you slide backwards on a warm sunny day?0
