I would be trapped on it for 2 years. They will not tell me what to expect. I have no hope of getting a job so I don't see the point of the Work Programme. I am unemployable.
The JC will not tell you as they do not know!

IF you really think you are unemployable then you need to talk to someone and signing off wont help you

I have a degree and most employers don't like that.
Apply for different jobs then. All (around 20) jobs I've applied for in the last two years have said in the requirements section things like 'a degree or equivalent would be desirable', and some said 'degree or equivalent in X is required'. There are jobs for graduates out there.

Definitely speak to the JC about your confidence,

If I do that they will send me to interview technique sessions etc. It would be even worse if I told them how I felt.

It does not work like that anymore.

You clearly need help in your job search, and this is exactly what the WP is for. Why not give it a go?

I don't want to, I need a way out of it.

I'm starting this on Monday! I have been signing on for a year, sadly my industry is just making everyone redundant, and I am trying desperately to get work using my other skills, even if it's just a few hours a week and gets me off JSA. If you have a degree you could do tutoring, that pays quite well per hour and I've seen adverts for kids just finished their ALevels charging £12 an hour. You could get double the min wage and it can be good fun helping a kid with their homework or get into uni. I've been doing a bit of this as I used to tutor a lot of kids.

I tried to sign off when they said I'd have to go on the Work Programme, but they refused to let me give up my benefits (I went into a bit of an emotional rant about how I felt humiliated signing on and I would rather try to survive on no money) and said I would probably only have to go once a fortnight. We'll see how that pans out. I was told though that they have a lot of really useful things there to plunder, I am hoping to get advice on starting up my own business so I can be self employed and have some control back over my life. I can post back on Monday to let you know how it went!!

You tell the Work Programme when they do your assesment and they will then try to help you.

You obviously do not want help, sorry to say.
