OP, the only way you are going to gain a valid view of the WP is to experience it yourself. Of course, if you find a job in the meantime you will no longer need to attend.
It is good advice isn't it
Thanks, I think I will still try signing off though and see if I go back to day 1.0 -
Is the thought of going to work that bad?0

Hardly any. I have a degree and most employers don't like that. I lack experience other than 6 months in a clothes shop.
Well maybe look at drop the degree then, have a read of other people who have been in similar situation with regards a degree adn not getting a job. Yes you lack experience but we all had to start somewhere.0 -

Yeah I have no self confidence and can be painfully shy.
Boring but true.
The world of work is hopeless to people like me haha0 -
I think you need to be signed off for about 6 months before you go back to day 1.
The work programme thing will definitely be a huge waste of time, but whilst you're on JSA, you have to jump through the hoops i'm afraid.
I was in one of them sort of programs a little over a year ago (?) and I just spend hours working on my CV (which had already been professionally done for me!! lol), then you'd have classes about how to dress smart and stuff. It was really quite funny. 1 lady came to a meeting with no shoes or socks and had really dirty feet. I won't forget that. Lots of other younger people just messed about in the computer room watching youtube videos without the sound.
All of these courses are ridiculous so I can understand why you don't want to go, but they seem to be getting stricter, so if you don't go, you'll likely lose your benefit.
Question though: If you lose your benefit then what do the government expect you to live on? You still haven't got a job and so have no money. Do they just keep giving you crisis loans or something? Seems silly?? Just curious, as i've never understood it. I know they won't let you starve.0 -

your advisor will be able to help with this.
The other people that will be on the work placement with you are probably in the same boat as well
You should try it. This and the MWA programme are totally different from other programmes. Companies will not let you sit there for hours to do your CV as they wont be paid for it like they used to on programmes like FND, ESF, R2R etc. Companies are now only paid on plsacements or actual outcomes so the turnaround and the help should be quicker/better0
