Hi yall, bright and sunny here in the emids, almost springlike:j

The MATHLETTS and I have worked like demons this morning. Beds stripped, whole house cleaned and three airers worth of washing flapping in the garden and two loads of TD folded and put away. We are gonna take tomorrow off and kick back, except for a grocery shop at Tesco (hope I'm not escorted off the premesis like last week. :o )

This afto we are gonna snuggle down and watch Narnia (again) and work our way through a box of biscuits!

Last night as a valentine treat Mrs MATH rustled up:
Lamb Steaks in mint, red wine and onion gravy
    Steamed carrots and baby potatoes
Clotted cream rice pudding with chocolate dipped shortbreads. Yum Yum!

    Lunch
    Cheese and potato toasties

    Dinner
HM Chicken in black bean sauce and egg fried rice
Icecream with hm hot fudge sauce

Gingahm - Stick that bed jacket back on and get back under your covers, you need at least 4 weeks 'confinement' Nothing more taxing that picking up a Woman's Realm please.

Lillibet - I had this lurgy just after Christmas, it's vile! I find once you've passed it on you feel better lets hope one of your fellow diners starts suffering soon. LOL hugs to SAHMX5 too

Mrs Mix - My aunt did this a few months ago, needed two operations and has almost gone blind in one eye. It's amazing how many people this does happen to, it's so dangerous. Hugs to DS1

Moggins - High temperature, wooly head and shivering are all signs of shock - at realising you are GRANNY AGE:p :D Congratulations to you and Lelc

Hugs to everyone I've missed and have a great day!

loren83, you're not the only one!! Sometimes I walk past people and have to force myself not to tut when I see their shopping trolleys!

Hopefully my wrath won't be put apon anyone in the supermarkets this week though, I hope to pop to the butchers on Saturday to get the meat, other than that I won't be going near a supermarket as I went to 3 (inc M&S) on Tuesday!! Hehe.

    Lilbet,

I've had a sore throat the past two days - I'll know who to blame if it turns to flu.;)

Congratulations GR, Lelc and Moggins. I feel very jealous, mind you I love babies and would quite happily take on a newborn until it was baout 10 months old and then pass it on:D .

Someone make me get out the sewing kit tonight, I must mend two holes in the toes of my brand new stay ups (from walking round London on Tuesday), a couple of holes in the seam of some trousers and a hole in the sleeve seam of a cardigan. I'm terrible about doing any mending but it never takes long when I get going.

DH is staying in london to go out for a drink with a colleague from Turkey so I'll be able to watch ER in peace tonight:D . He always asks questions at the crucial times.

Please do not overdo things - as regards iron - there is a drink called Spatone or something similar that you can get in Boots and it is a great way for the iron to be absorbed by the body.

    (((moggins)))

Hope you and your dad feel better soon but I am worried that you are getting no rest and always putting yourself last.

DD(17) had a friend over so made loads of drop scones with bacon for breakfast which were very popular.

May make egg fried rice for tea unless inspiration strikes.

Really pleased because I have just ordered (on the web) a beautiful pair of silver and amethyst designer earrings and a dvd that is almost impossible to get for her birthday at the end of this month!:j :j (DD will be 18)

And at a moneysaving price !!!

Going to hang out some washing and then have a hot cup of coffee to warm myself up.

Welcome to the new people and hugs to everybody.

  • Back from the factory shop at Cadbury World. My, there were so many lovely things and as cheap as chips, I didn't buy loads for myself as I knew I would only eat it!!!! DD2 came along with £3 of her saved money spent £2 on a carrier bag full (and I am not exaggerating!!(sp!)) She is a very pleased little bargain babe too and as thin as a rake so choc won't do her any harm!!

Many congratulations to Lelc. You and Moggins will be great yummy grandmas!!

Mrs. Mix, meant to say hope your Ds is okay now and will still pick up a hoover to help now and again!!

My friend is on her way up her for the funeral, she is coming to see me on Saturday, (so I will give her the pressie I sent to myself!!) and she said it will be nice to get away from it all - I think I won't say too much about her Dh and let her talk when she feels like it (unless any of you think I should do different - advice very greatly received) as I think thats what she means. I hope shes going to be okay. Her children might come with her as well, I will just play it by ear.

Have a good afternoon all, and all you poorly people get well soon!

    Love BBxx

    Hi folks
Sorry no time to read today as on a shortened lunch break but hugs to all!
Have just dashed out and been ahem...[says in a very quiet voice] shopping! Not very old style I know but my local Clarks had brown boots in my size in the sale down from £70 to £15 and my current ones leak so I guess perhaps it's all good moneysaving really even if it wasn't planned.
OS today has been bed making, white wash, hoovering and general tidy round. Sink and loo also done. HM veggie spag bol tonight and then need to finish off the accounts. Not terribly exciting really but all needs doing!

  • My Harrods parcel arrived. :j :j The scarf is gorgeous and I now wish I had ordered some extra to put away for Christmas pressies. This one will be given to a very good friend for her birthday. Oh well, I will just have to keep my eye on the bargains forum. ;)

Congratulations to lelc! How will you be known once you become a granny? Grandma, Gran, Nana, Granny?? I should ask the same question of moggins too.

Hope you and your father feel better soon, moggins.

Couldn't figure out where all the side plates and saucers had gone from the cupboard. Just found them all - plus a few glasses too - in DS's bedroom. He is a mucky pup!!

Off to wash up the prodigal dishes and then organise a stir-fry for dinner tonight to use up the chicken I should have used yesterday.

((((hugs)))) to those I have missed and who need one. xx

  • I keep wondering where all my plates have gone too anniebooklover - then remembered - my helpful (not!) children have kept dropping and breaking them - now have two small plates left and only six large dinner plates - see a new set coming on some time soon!
