Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 15th 2007 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Hi Guys!
Cant sleep, so have come down to take some pain tablets. Have to be ok, as we're leaving for sisters at 8am:eek:   ...the kids are going bowling today with their Papa and my OH and making some plans to the zoo tomorrow i think. I will be resting with sister and mum is looking after us both today:rolleyes: then i get a day with my sister without anyone there tomorrow, which will be lovely! Mum is doing one of her roasts tonight;)
Anyway, I must try to get some sleep.
Hugs to all and see you all Saturday, if not before:D

Good morning Penny-pincher and all who follow,
I slept badly last night tossing and turning. Roll on the weekend at least there is a lie in of sorts in the morning.
I hope there is more staff in today as I am not looking forward to the shift otherwise.
I don't know what to do for tea tonight maybe a simple omelette and salad with some HM coleslaw.
Anyway my second coffee is calling, I'll pop in later.
(((((HUGS))))) to all who need one today.

Good morning Penny Pincher, Smokybabe and all who follow. I hope you all have a good day.
For the first time in a while I feel well enough to join in with the daily thread. I had my beautiful baby on Saturday night by cesarean section and came home yesterday desperate to get on with being back to normal. I'm under strict instructions to rest, which I will, but I've been in bed due to pregnancy complications for so long that it's hard to sit still when I feel so well (if a little sore.)
So my OS plans for the day are:
Well, breast feeding and using the washable nappies passed down from DS1 are already underway. Lovely to see the fluffy white nappies in use again. SO cute!
I'm not allowed to do housework yet, but my mum and husband will help me do a store cupboard inventory and I'm going to do an online shop. I haven't cooked for so long I've no idea what we have and want to use it up! (I know I've been out of the loop for a while but I believe Feb is use it up month?!)
I want to sort out some baby clothes that have been passed down. Now we know his size (9lb2oz) I can get rid of the teeny sizes and organise the ones that will fit at the moment. DH and mum have already cleaned everything, so just gentle sorting out stuff for me.
I am anaemic due to some blood loss on Saturday so I've got my 'food bible' and will be finding cheap sources of good high iron food and will be back on here later to look for some tasty recipes to pass on to DH!
Have a lovely day everyone. When we have the photos on the computer I'll post a little one on here of the baby.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Good morning everyone and a big (((hugs))) to everyone who needs one!
Good morning Gingham Ribbon! Fantastic to see you here again and congratulations!
Enjoy some relaxation time with your new baby and make sure you get yourself tip top again
:D We are all looking forward to seeing the photos of baby gingham ribbon:j:j
Last day at w**k for me this week - I have tomorrow off and I am not going to bring some work home
Stocks are running down in the freezer so I'll be doing a stocktake to see what HM ready meals I need to prepare to go in there. OH is taking me out for a meal tonight so I'm looking forward to that
Have a lovely OS day everyone :wave:Enjoying an MSE OS life

Morning everyone
(((penny pincher))) hope you feel better soon
(((gingham ribbon))) you take care and have plenty of rest
well I was having a good day yesterday the kids were behaving doing their jobs ds1 say's I've done the bathroom I'm just going to hoover the stairs the next thing i hear is I'm bleeding he didn't move the hoover down tugged a little to hard on the extension tube a bit to hard and it all came down and clunked him on the head so two hours later he has two blue stitches in a inch long deep cut on his head fortunately he has his hair very very short almost shaved so it was quite easy for the doctor to do but ds is terrified of needles even sewing needles not an easy boy to hold down at 15 he's a lot taller than me and a lot heavier and stronger so after a short fight and some tactical calming on my part it was done and we came home and dh got us a takeaway for dinnner as time was getting on not os but needs must sometimes
of on our shopping trip today which was held over from christmas so not much os here today but will start again tomorrow
have a lovely day

Congratulations GinghamRibbon!!
Really thrilled for you. Please do take it easy though - I had an op that was the same cut as a caeser and your body needs lots of energy to recover from it.
I know your hormones are probably begging you to get on, as well as having had bed rest for so long - but do make the most of the chance to put your feet up and heal (not to mention enjoying your babe
)
Carers day yesterday was lovely. I did 7 treatments, and it was lovely to see how relaxed each person became after just a half hour treatment. There were some incredibly facsinating people there too, the only down side was that I came away wanting to be able to give all of them a full course of treatments, lol.
Today is college free, so time to catch up on some 'flying' before the treatment I have booked in for this afternoon. I really need to magic some time from somewhere as the amount of treatments I need to do for case studies are quite phenomenal!
The biggest challenge for me is that my case studies are mainly friends and being efficient with my time then proves difficult.
If there are any fellow OSers that are involved in a similar business (holistic therapies) that could give me a few pointers on establishing boundaries in these situations I'd be really gratefull. I don't want to be hostile to my friends, but equally dropping in for 'ad hoc' treatments (requested) or taking half of the day for scheduled ones just isn't going to work.......
OS wise, I'm hoping I can soon get the chance to test the latest 'revelation' of my nan's recipie of the chocolate cake. I will need to give the oven a good clean first though so it'll be bicarb and vinegar to the rescue
Luckily it doesn't look bad - it's just that I've done oven chips a couple of times (bad OSer
) and it's made my oven 'smoky'. Hmmmm, then again it's half term next week, so might be best to wait 'til then and the boys can ensure I don't eat most of the cake :rotfl: .
Right, best wake the boys.... they're running late.
Love and hugs to all,
Kaz
PS Moggins - I haven't spotted it yet.... and am also considering your offer of that number......:cool:January '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far

Morning early birds!
Up early today. I've fallen for a session at w*** despite it being half term (I'm supposed to have a term-time only contract
). I'm off to a rural venue with appointments so can't twag it  . Meant to do some preparation for this yesterday, but spent the time with my children instead, so have done an hour this morning. Was very restrained, and did that before coming on here

Small penguins are going swimming (they got free tickets for using the library :j :j ) and will then get themselves a snack in the cafe before coming back to my office via the shops.
Choir tonight, and I've had a text from a friend that she fancies beer afterwards. So DH and some other freinds will join us.
DH has a day off tomorrow. We're going to York Dungeon (DS's choice    ) and a pizza afterwards. Bargain with Mr T's tokens - £25 for the outing and the meal :T :T Shez, link for the Dungeon is here!
Gingham - huge congrats to you and all the Ribbons!
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Morning everyone
Gingham Ribbon - Many congratulations to you and your family.
No work today and tomorrow and plans are:
- catch up on washing
- weekly food shop
- sort a few bits of paperwork
- visit the library
- clean/tidy/hoover all rooms
We have parents evening tonight. Usually the times are allocated alphabetically and we were always getting the 9pm slot. I argued this was unfair so we are going at 7:50pm instead. A bit of an improvement
Have a great day folks

I am organising myself for today, kitchen now beautiful - thanks to DH, but plenty more to to in this household.
Don't want kids to veg in front of tv all day so will take them out later - need to go to get some choc. stocks in for the Monday night group, so will nip to Cadbury World - the club has a charity card - hope I don't buy too much for me as well!!!

Morning peeps
W*** today again:rolleyes: but we are a little nearer the weekend:j
Pen Pen - thanks so much for the PM's yesterday I havent had chance to sit and 'think' about things as yet, last night I felt a little 'fuzzy' too much red wine I think but I will have to seriously think about things later on.
Tonight I am going out to dinner with my family as my 2 nephews fly back to Oz tomorrow and I probably wont see them again for a few years. This will be the first time since my parents divorced and re-married that we will all be in the same room together - not too sure if I will need a drink or to stay sober
 I am sure it will be fine but I suppose as a child I remember all the bickering so I will be a little tense:rolleyes:
OH is still in bed, he is so down latley and I dont know what to do to help him
I got a couple of paint testers yesterday for our bedroom linen white and soft cream so I will try them at some point because I want to start painting at the weekend.
Oh well I'm rambling now.
Have a good day and take care all x0
