    Congratulations Gingham Ribbon! :j
(Take advantage of the reason / excuse not to do anything for a while! It might never come round again!)

Another dreadful night of asthma, so another day on the sick... I'll be for the high jump with my boss when I get back, but I'm trying not to think about that, cos the seems to make it worse...

To add insult to injury, I have an interview at 4 this afternoon in Newcastle. I'm not sure how seriously they'll take me when I turn up sounding like Sammy the Seal! :rotfl:

And finally, good news on the furnishing of PGs new house front... I snagged a table and chairs for £50 from a woman mum works with, and she said I could have her side board for £30!!! How cool is that?!! Just need a sofa, hoover and odds and ends now.

Oh... and to decide which mortgage to take out... Mmm... important that one...

So love and hugs to all who need them...

Good morning Penny Pincher, Smokybabe and all who follow. I hope you all have a good day.

For the first time in a while I feel well enough to join in with the daily thread. I had my beautiful baby on Saturday night by cesarean section and came home yesterday desperate to get on with being back to normal. I'm under strict instructions to rest, which I will, but I've been in bed due to pregnancy complications for so long that it's hard to sit still when I feel so well (if a little sore.)

So my OS plans for the day are:

Well, breast feeding and using the washable nappies passed down from DS1 are already underway. Lovely to see the fluffy white nappies in use again. SO cute!

I'm not allowed to do housework yet, but my mum and husband will help me do a store cupboard inventory and I'm going to do an online shop. I haven't cooked for so long I've no idea what we have and want to use it up! (I know I've been out of the loop for a while but I believe Feb is use it up month?!)

I want to sort out some baby clothes that have been passed down. Now we know his size (9lb2oz) I can get rid of the teeny sizes and organise the ones that will fit at the moment. DH and mum have already cleaned everything, so just gentle sorting out stuff for me.

I am anaemic due to some blood loss on Saturday so I've got my 'food bible' and will be finding cheap sources of good high iron food and will be back on here later to look for some tasty recipes to pass on to DH!

Have a lovely day everyone. When we have the photos on the computer I'll post a little one on here of the baby.

You look after yourself and let the others pamper you - I have had abdominal surgery (not caesarians) and you need to rest so it heals properly:)

Welcome to James Fraser, it is a lovely name:)

well I was having a good day yesterday the kids were behaving doing their jobs ds1 say's I've done the bathroom I'm just going to hoover the stairs the next thing i hear is I'm bleeding he didn't move the hoover down tugged a little to hard on the extension tube a bit to hard and it all came down and clunked him on the head so two hours later he has two blue stitches in a inch long deep cut on his head fortunately he has his hair very very short almost shaved so it was quite easy for the doctor to do but ds is terrified of needles even sewing needles not an easy boy to hold down at 15 he's a lot taller than me and a lot heavier and stronger so after a short fight and some tactical calming on my part it was done and we came home and dh got us a takeaway for dinnner as time was getting on not os but needs must sometimes

    Morning all,

Congrats to Gingham Ribbon and welcome to the world little Jimmy!

I've only just dragged myself out of bed so I'm feeling a little sluggish. It's been early mornings all week though and I need to get some rest before getting back to school on Monday!

I'm not looking after my sister today so I've got to use the chance to get back on with flying and give my flat a good going over!

I'm also off to see my great aunt today who I haven't seen in over 2 years but has just found out she is dying from cancer. There was a big family fall out so I hope we can clear the air.

I also want to get down to the allotment if it stays dry so it's a busy one!

Hope everyone's feeling ok today (((HUGS))) to anyone that needs one.

    Speak to you all soon.

PS - Has anyone heard from sammy_kaye18 recently? I just remember reading her very sad messages and then she seems to have gone quiet?
Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...

    Lol, congrats CCStar!
I'm feeling considerably more 'human' after a long soak in the bath (oils of frankinsence, basil, patchouli and grapefruit) and finally listening to part of the celestine meditation CD. Bought it for mam a few years ago, she never used it (much to my dismay) so I 'borrowed' it.... and I didn't get around to using it for about 2 years, lol.
I'm glad I did today - it's the longest I've been able to stay in the bath in ages (I get twitchy after 5 minutes, and get out after 10!) I feel great.
As a result I now feel capable of getting flapping and stuck into my flying... so I think I'd best switch the pc off ;)
Have a great day everyone - and I'll catch up later,
    Kaz x
PS - Gingham Ribbon - I'm sure I read that chocolate is a great source of iron, and that when b/f you use the equivelant calories of a large family bar through feeding alone.... Yes, I am serious!!
Other than that, Mackinsons is another fantastic source, as is guiness.... with the added advantage of helping babe sleep :D xx
    January '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.
    Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far :p )
Someone burst my bubble and I lost the plot so no idea what I spent now... :(I will try to work it out.
    Other Jan :- Petrol £20.41, Clothes £8.50, House £3.
