Morning all - Big congrats to Gingham - do you have a name yet???

Sun's shining and the sky is clear....will try and drag DD's out for a walk today. Had friends here all day yesterday with their kids - one of them really upset me, won't go into details but I don't think I've ever been so angry with someone that's supposed to be a friend.......had a good rant to DH about it last night but didn't sleep well.

DD's are off to my parents tomorrow and not back until Sunday pm so DH and I are looking forward to a bit of "us" time - he's finishing work early tomorrow so we can do a bit of window shopping before going to the cinema (can't remember the last time we went together alone)

Not sure what's for dinner yet - meal plan got lost so I think it's a "use it up from the fridge" day...got some ham, lots of eggs, some salad and cheese - so maybe a quiche and salad and HM coleslaw.

    Have a good day all.

  • Morning everyone

GR it's so nice to have family around you to help out and let you rest. Enjoy the time to get to know your DS more - when my DS and DD were babies I could happily have sat all day just looking in wonder at them. Such a wonderful time.

W**k today. DS and DD are with XDH today so when I come home from work I will be getting lots of housework done. I hope that my parcel arrives from Harrods today. Found a misprice thread on the Bargains forum. Got a scarf reduced from £39.95 to £9.95. Told boss's wife about it and she bought one too. She got her's first (even though I ordered mine days before her  ) and it's so beautiful that she now wishes she had ordered more. Of course now Harrods have cottoned on to the misprice and the price has risen to what it should be.

Need to get a move on. Have a thrilling Thursday. xx

  • Gingham, congratulations darling! :D Please please please rest xxx

Well I am off to Belfast tomorrow for a weekend of drunkeness with some peeps from another forum I go on. I am Very Excited! :D

Today I shall be working then when I get back I need to iron, pack, tidy house etc etc...

Fish for them for dinner. I will have grapefruit. I will fit my size 14 jeans nicely instead of looking like a stuffed sausage! ;)

    Take care all

    Morning

Penny Pincher - Enjoy your time with your sister.

    Gingham - take it easy.

Just off to crank up the breadmaker. If I do that, then I think I only have to buy milk for DS. Then we're away for the weekend, so no groceries there. (Apart from some wine for my mum and dad)

Then next week is definitely use it all up week. The dreaded week before pay day.

Take care everyone. I MUST do some housework

He's called James Fraser. We named him at 20 weeks so he's been Jimmy for a while now. We have an Irish surname (from DH) and I'm Scottish so the names will at least make it clear what his heritage is! LOL

I promise to take it easy. I think I am having some ups and downs. Once the high wore off this morning I felt really sore and tired. Had a good play with DS1 on the Cbeebies website tucked up in bed then left him and DH to get on with making breakfast etc. :j

  • Good Morning All

GR - def take it easy I was like that after my C-section I recovered really quickly but it is very important not to do anything like lifting and hoovering - after a week or so I did get used to it! Re the Anemia (sp) I dont know if you like it (and plenty dont) but black pudding is relaly good.

Thankfully its sunny here in Essex at the moment hopefully it will stay like that for at least this morning as we are off ice-skating at an outdoor rink. I am taking one of DS friends and meeting DD old school friend with her mother there. Fingers x'd nothing gets broken. After that we are having lunch at a buffet chinese not os but is very cheap and cheerful. OH is hoping to wake up in time so he can come too.

Before we go this morning will do some quick tidying and paperwork then more paperwork and ironing when we get back.

Dont know about tea tonight - if OH makes it we will probably only want sandwhiches.

Best get on. Have a great day.
  • Hello everyone :hello:

((hug)) to everyone who needs one. Congratulations GR! I remember after DS2 was born (363 days ago!) I felt like I'd been run over by a truck! I was in OK shape physically but trying to get my head around the arrival of a baby, the drama of the birth, remembering how to BF etc, plus looking after DS1 too..... my head was all over the place! Having two little boys is great though :):)

Going to get the bread machine on to make some of thriftlady's bread spiral thingys for the big birthday party on Saturday. Then taking the boys down to the soft play centre and hopefully wear them out enough that they both sleep when we get home (I can always hope). Got loads of cleaning and tidying to do if I can.

Have a good day everyone :)

Only one more get up to the weekend. Never used to feel like this and it is wrong I know to wish your life away.
Congratulations, Birthday Wishes, Commiserations and ((Hugs)) to those applicable or just would like them.
What really pleases me on this thread is the sanity which you apply to OSing. Try all the time, but if circumstances make it impractical, you get on with it without beating yourselves up (too much) then just jump back on the bus.
I think I saw a recipe once for HM oven chips which were low calorie, maybe via Weight Watchers path, where you made them yourselves and just sprayed the potato wedges/chips with the low cal sprays and baked.
Anyone with C-sections/hysterectomy recovery, just forget where the vacuum lives for 2-3 months, that seems to be the one thing that really can knock recovery.
Enough waffle, back to work, have a good day all.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
