Morning all
It's an extremely windy day today in County Antrim.
Gingham Ribbon - congratulations
Had a tasty, nourishing breakfast - ground up mixed seeds, natural yoghurt and frozen raspberries. Good start to the day.
We are taking next monday off work so we are looking forward to a long weekend.
Hope everyone has a good day

Hi All
Just a quick post before I head off to DDs to be looked after. Think I am finally starting to feel a bit better.
Gingham - congratultions on your little boy. Please, please do not overdo things at this stage. As you have been on bed rest for so long all your muscles will probably have to build up strength.
Love and hugs to you all and will try and catch up when I come home (either tomorrow or Staurday.

Morning all,
Quick go on here before I tackle the kitchen - couldn't be bothered last night after all the Cub things - one kid's parents were 1/2 hr late collecting him from the unihoc - so dh didn't get his dinner till 9.50pm:mad:
Must say how friendly OS is - I wandered over onto one of the other boards yesterday - felt like I needed a tin helmet with me:D I'm also going to put a sausage and baked bean casserole in the SC for the boys tonight as I'm off out to Cookery Club - lots of yummy Indian food. Good thing WW is this morning before the curries!
Good luck to Gingham Ribbon - I was very anaemic after ds1 was born - ended up with a couple of pints of someone else's blood and some awful iron tablets - definitely try the dietary remedies first.
I also have to empty the sheet music cupboard this morning as ds1 has lost his theory work book and I think dh has tidied it away - he has these odd sessions where he has a fit and then noone can find anything for weeks:rolleyes: I'm also going to do a bit of research on the web about mystery shopping - starting with the MSE threads

Just packed DD of for the day, she's spending it with my mum. She cant handle both of my kids together, so they have to take it in turns.
Welcome baby James Fraser, as others have said, do take it easy!
W*** in a bit, just waiting for the babysitter to turn up to look after DS.
Sold a few items on ebay last night, but didn't get as much as anticipated, never mind, at least its a few less items we have cluttering the place up.
Roll on the wk end. Its nearly here!
Have a great day everyone
Take care & love as usual

did anyone else come back from the OS meet with a dose of flu? Or is it just me? I have been in bed since sunday with few lucid moments? (I think I may have logged onto here at one point but for the life of me I am not sure?) I feel HORRIBLE, everything hurts/aches/burns/hurts. My house is a tip & I really really don't care & I have cancelled a dinner party on saturday.Hope I haven't infected anyoen lese with my germs?
Hope everyone else is OK & happy, sorry I haven't read the whole thread. if anything important has happend and I have missed it then I'm sorry & I'm sure I would feel the appropriate emotion for you if I knew too.

Morning :hello:
Welcome back Gingham  - take care of yourself and enjoy your time with the new baby.
Tonight I am going to see Strassman the "alternative ventriloquist" at the Pleasance Theatre in Islington. I used to love his show on ITV1 which was ages ago now! I got a great deal on tickets through Whatsonstage.com and they only cost me £6.25 each :j :j
Last night I spent half the evening on the phone, to various friends. I could do with some advice on one friend's behalf so perhaps I will post it on another thread. She has finally been told that she is disabled (she has actually been disabled for 3 years, but didn't want to admit defeat while the docs still thought the problem may be short-term) so has resigned herself to never being able to work full-time again
and has run out of her savings which she has been using to supplement her income, though she is in the process of putting in a DLA claim. I have been trying to inspire her to make her food budget go further, but she seems to be very limited by the fact that she (a) doesn't have a freezer or space for one, (b) can't stand for long enough to prepare proper meals, (c) has dietary requirements (is veggie and can't eat dairy)... I have tried to persuade her to come on here but she won't, nor will she let me ask for proper specific advice on her behalf :wall:
There's another story in the news this morning about a fatal shooting of a young boy in South London
It was not in my neighbourhood like the last one, but that doesn't make me any less sad for the victim and his family. The positive thing is that the police now seem to be taking the problem seriously - I'd like to be able to "do something" but I agree with the general consensus that what these young black boys need is positive black male role models - and as a white middle-class female I really don't know what I can do
Right, must be off as I have a meeting in 10 mins.
Have a good day everybody
Rzl xx

ginham ribbon congratulations on the baby!
I suffer from aneamia quite a lot so if you can stomach liver-that is an excellent source of iron (with a little dijon mustard or in a casserole) beans on wholmeal toast is a good cheap iron enriched meal, wash everything down with a glass of orange juice as vitamin c absorbs iron better (as does spinach)
hope everyone is well today, I feel a little "off" kids are really ill with cold and coughs and kept me up all night coughing and my cold (that never really went away) has returned with avengance!
day off tommorow so think I will just "chill out"
OH watching newcastle tonight so might take the kids over to my dads for an hour or so.
we are getting a puppy back today as my siser has been offered a full time job and doesn't feel its fair on the puppy (quite rightly so) but a neighbour popped over the other day asking of we had any puppies left-so hopefully she still wants one!
hugs to anyone that needs/wants them
have a good day everyoneofficial dfw nerd club member no 214
