if i were you i would be glad to go back. everyone knows that you have actually not done anything wrong.

also, after doing this once, if they tried anything like this again it would look really really bad - and you would have a case for discrimination.

join the union! i know some people moan about them - but they are a great support, locally and nationally.

Glad to hear that you are able to return to work and no further action against you. You must be relieved to an extent?

Hi hjb123, yes relieved in some ways because at least my name has been cleared and hopefully it will not cause me a problem in the future when I do eventually change jobs although I understand that even the 'will not take it further' letter is placed on my file so I supose any future employer will no I have been suspended and investigated.... will have to check this out. I cannot believe how amazing people have beenor how many times the thread has been read

Pleased for you, though it sounds as if it shouldnt have happened. I don`t think they are allowed to say anything detrimental in a reference so I wouldnt worry.

That is because you were done a total injustice, and people will always give support when it looks extremely unfair, which in this case it obviously was. The fact that you are a user name doesn't make any difference. I would certainly try and get that suspension off your file as it shouldn't now be there or if it is left there should be a follow up note with it to say you were cleared of all allegations. Best of luck when you go back to work and don't forget to update and post how your first day went, the support will still be here for you as long as you need, and try your best not to allow this to knock your confidence you have done nothing wrong at all.

I was happy to hear the outcome for you. I hope you feel you can go back with your head held high and continue to enjoy yuour job, but I agree you must insist that you have password protected access to the terminal to give you peace of mind; you can also suggest that it will protect others from being accused in the future.

I would return to work with a letter somethign along the lines of:

Dear Mr XYZ,

Following your communication dated x/x/x requesting my return to work today 12/03/2007 I assume that you have investigated and found the allegations against me to be false, like I told you when you initiated this investigation. I would therefor like a written confirmation confirming this and that all charges were found to be without merit and thus dropped.

Whilst I appreciate that all allegations have to be fully investigated I am appalled at the lack of professionalism I encountered from the company during this investigation and I will seek legal advice regarding my position within the company.
I would also like to lodge a formal complaint against the person who made these accusations as obviously this is victimisation and slander and I want this fully investigated.

I can not make clear enough the stress and concern the company have caused me through lack of following proper procedures and acting ethically through this incident and can only hope that no other employee will ever have to endure the sleepless nights due to such incompetence in handling complaints.

I look forward to the written appology at your earliest convenience, to be no later than close of business 14/03/2007.
