ok I finally got through after many phone call attempts. The guy told me to make a direct paypal payment as you can't book international via the website.

Does anyone know what the packaging requirements are? Do I address it to my intended recipient? It says on the website I have to use their packaging. But where do I get that from?

Also do they send me confirmation that they will be collecting the package on the specified date, do I receive any reference number?

Hi Roses (me again - ha ha)

There is some packaging advice on their website: http://selectiveuk.tripod.com/id7.html

I have not used the international service, but for uk you just put on the address of the recipient.

I don't think they send confirmation emails anymore, which is half the problem 'cos you don't know when the driver will turn up - okay if you're having a collection from work or don't want to go out for a couple of days :)

  • I have also used Selective for picking up my parcels but some of my customers havent received their parcels and they are not answering the telephone? I am going to ring them on monday morning to find out where my customers parcels are. Is anybody else having the same problem?
  • When I first used Selective they used Parcel Force and I had a tracking number so that I could trace the status of my parcel on the Royal Mail website. Then they started using DHL and again I was given a tracking number so that I could check the status on line with DHL.

Have you not got a tracking number so that you can go onto the 'carrier's' website and check on the progress of your parcel?

  • Hi thanks for getting back to me.
On 2 occasions that the driver came to pick the missing parcels up, apparently I only found out last night that I was given false paperwork and that the company on the paperwork this turkish man gave me is for a totally different company who have had complaints from other ebayers that their parcels have gone missing too!! I have tried to phone kevin, friday, but the phone kept going onto answer machine. This company have told me that the police are involved now so you can imagine what I am thinking now as I handed over more than £800 worth of goods in total on 2 separate occasions to Kevins driver. So no the tracking numbers dont work!! I was surprised to see this man to be honest as normally DHL pick my parcels up but when I spoke earlier on in the week about my deliveries not being picked up I was told that the turkish driver is their normal driver. So now I am waiting till monday to speak with him on the phone to explain things to me and I have pmed him from here and also emailed him.
I am really really upset about this whole thing.
  • I think Kevin uses different companies in different areas - not really sure how this works. But what you are telling us is REALLY worrying. Hopefully Kevin will drop us a line on here - it will make me really nervous to hand anything over to anyone not driving an official DHL or Parcel Force van.

Let us know how you get on, and I hope it turns out okay for you.

  • THanks. The driver who picked my goods up was in a big white van and he dident have a uniform on just a grey jacket with a gre/black top underneath and black pants. He dident even ask me to sign any forms and dident put any of the address of my parcels on any paperwork. He just gave me a slip of white paper each time with the address of the other company on and he signed them. I wont be able to rest until Kevin has sorted it out for me to be honest. They are a very cheap courier system which was working great for me until a few days ago.

I'm not happy with Selective at all.

This is the email i have sent a few times and also through my messages on ebay and not received a reply:

    Dear sir,

    I asked for collection Tuesday.

    A courier came Monday.

So i rebooked through your website for collection Tuesday again and i also phoned up to which someone said pick up would definitely be that day.

    No-one turned up.

I asked for a refund as i wasn't happy, no reply.

Now you tried picking a parcel up Thursday!

Please refund as i booked with someone else and they have now collected on the day i asked.

    Regards

No refund, reply or kiss my !!!!.

    Joke outfit.

I filled the form on the website correctly though so it can't be blamed on that.

The thing is though i keep thinking its only £4.25 so its not worth me opening a Paypal dispute but if everyone thought the same thing...

Its the principle and if you neg him hes just gives you a neg back even though its his incompetence.

People might come on here and say its the couriers fault for not turning up but you book through his website so its his responsibility if anything goes wrong.
  • I have to admit that they have been good with me. Like if they never picked up on the day they were supposed to they came the next day promptly. Its just this problem I am having now with my customers not receiving their parcels that Selective took from me to delivery.

Thats just not good enough for me.

I had someone waiting in all day on the Tuesday as thats the day i asked for collection, not Monday when they tried to collect.

They should collect on the day you ask, not turn up the day before or after (when the likes of me and my girlfriend work full time so we can't be there) on the off chance they might turn up when you didn't ask!

I hope everything turns out alright for you. :D

I booked a collection on 14th march and put collection date 15/03/07, i did not put asap and i did not put 14/03/07

I had about quite a few things to package to send at the post office but i decided to start with the item that was going with selective/dhl the following day just to get it out of the way

a couple of hours later DHL were at the door for the item i had only booked a few hours previously which was not meant to have been collected until the following day! luckily i had already packaged it and he was able to take it but i was not expecting them until the following day and it could easily not have been packaged and ready to go or i might not have been home.

other times i have waited in all day, i have phoned selective in the afternon and was told it was definitely booked and dhl were definitely coming. dhl didn't arrive and i have then had to wait in most of they day the next day
