ah,its a nice try Hermione ,and I know you do like to try
The important part was that little 's' at the end
But the little 's' doesn't matter as the post you quoted wasn't in the opening post and can't therefore be one of the OPs "opening statements" can it?
Unless of course, ex-posties have a different interpretation of "opening" to the rest of the UK population.
Anyway, even if the letter wasn't delivered the next working day but came two, three or even 4 working days later (and I don't think four working days is unreasonable for 1st class mail), then the OP wouldn't have had a problem as the tickets would still have arrived in time.0 -

thas right.
hence why I didnt say opening post or opening statement.
The OP wouldnt have a problem if arrived in time, but chose to use a service that laft the situation they are in a possibility.0 -
Must say I've found the complete opposite, that when it doesn't arrive the day I expect it, it does arrive the day after. And that's usually due to sender not getting it in the box on time
The (usual) cases you describe above have absolutely nothing to do with this case.
They are simply cases of things being effectively posted a day later than you thought they had been.
Not the fault of the RM at all.
But neither is it evidence that things, if delayed, are 'usually' delayed by just one day since there was no RM delay in the first place. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
My normal postie's very good,A friend who lives in Lossiemouth,Scotland, sent me a jiffy bag yesterday lunchtime containing some RAF stuff. It arrived about 20 minutes ago, after putting my normal mail thru my letterbox,he gave the door a knock to let me know I had mail sitting outside, and I'm in an upstairs apartment.0

Not blaming RM at all.
The evidence that things usually turn up the next day is through experience of a few years working there..Any that take longer than that are usually caused by bags not emptied properly, not addressed properly, stuck in machinery etc etc etc. Simple errors that cause problems, no business is 100% all of the time.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
