And actually Hermione as the definition of premium is paying a price above the normal, so the £1.16 paid (first class postage plus extra for the signature) - a rate set by Royal Mail and not me (reference to those who have said how 'cheap' postage costs are) I did indeed pay a premium0 -
You said your daughter is in halls, so am I, and tbh, it can take absolutely ages for the post to reach you from when it actually gets delivered to uni, so you've got that to contend with too.0

77p of that is for your signature
makes no difference to the postal handling
so the 1st class cost is
I pay more than £1.16 to travel a few stops by bus,so I dont know if you feel thats a lot of money
howeer £1.16 - 77p leaves 39p0 -
OP, have you used the RM website to track the letter to see what status it's at? It may have been delivered to the uni, and they are sitting on it.0

Not quite sure what you are saying here custardy? What I was trying to say was that the cost of first class postage is 46p and I paid a premium ie above the rate for first class, on top. I might not quite have quoted the correct figures as I sent a parcel as well that day elsewhere, all I know is I paid 1st class postage plus cost for the signature. I too pay more than that to travel on a bus but last time I looked postal delivery people weren't taking items of post to people's homes on an individual basis so that's a bit of a baseless argument !0 -

You never know, she could be sitting next to the RM worker who stole the first ticket.........
Lol - I feel you are just stirring now malkyhI think it will probably turn up about half an hour after she pulls out of the station tomorrow !
Custardy - I think you and I will never agree so on this matter think we should both continue to think each other is wrong and hopefully will never cross posts in the futureI certainly won't make the mistake of daring to ever criticise our Royal Mail system ever again!
