    Actually, there are.

I beleive there are many woman exactly like this. However, the government chose not to show the statistics for obvious reasons.

Well if a woman thinks that struggling to pay the bills, wash cook and iron, clean, go to work, do the shopping, garden, fix the broken things. Teach kid to ride bike, learn the offside rule so not to embarrass child, get up with them in the night, go to work, sort childcare and all else there is to raising a child. And do this on their own is a meal ticket I'm very suprised.

If people do not want to father or mother a child they should not take the risk
I'm not sure what the "obvious reasons" the government have for with holding these statistics. In fact if this was as common as you said surely the government should run a national ad campaign, warning of the dangers of accidental fatherhood.

Maybe you should have a think about what life may actually be like as a single parent, then think if most right thinking women would inflict this on themselves or their child.
  • I'd like to know why the OP thinks she can represent women in her argument. This thread is entitled 'CSA Law UNFAIR! From a woman!' as if those who are female would agree. I think is should read 'CSA Law UNFAIR! From One Person!'

I agree with Loui that there are some (not loads, just some) women who do use men as a donor - some of you may know from a previous post of mine that my OH was (she told him she was infertile when it turned out it was her ex) luckily OH has always been part of his sons life and they have a private arrangement with money.
she has been able to go from living at home to having a nice 2 bed place not far from her parents. she gets all the benefits that SWP's get plus a while ago, as she had been in her council house for x amount of time she was able to buy it for an amount just above my salary (which by the way is not huge).
me and OH in the meantime were living in a pokey 1 bed converted attic while we scrimped and saved for a deposit on a house - even then we had to go down the 50% ownership as we couldn't afford to buy outright.

as I said, I only think its a small minority of women who do this.

I certainly don't agree with the women who don't even tell the man they have gotten pregnant (be it one night stand or long term relationship but split before found out pregnant) and then decide to chase for money 7 or 8 years later - the woman has obviously done fine without the man for all that time and its her choice that the child had not had its dad in its life.

I do not believe that a man can be tricked into getting a woman pregnant - especially on a one night stand. Clearly in this situation, he does not know the woman enough to be able to trust her and should either not have sex with her (if he can resist) or use a condom. If she doesn't agree, then no sex! For all those that bleat 'she told me she was infertile', I'm sorry, but if you were too stupid to take responsibility for your own life, then tough! You must face the consequences. It isn't impossible to go without a one night stand you know, contrary to popular belief. She raped him, did she? Quite honestly, if a man does not want a child then he should ensure that he cannot get a woman pregnant by whatever means he feels fit. If he takes the chance, then there is a risk that he may get caught out.

It has already been said that the child has no say either do they? Should they go without because the parents are at loggerheads? It matters not how the child was conceived, it is entitled to be maintained by both parents and not the state.

As for saying that if a woman who waits for years before claiming child support should go without, have you not considered that she may not WANT to claim, but as the law is at present, if she claims benefits she may HAVE to. She may well have been able to get by up until a certain point in her life, but that may change and to be honest, the man hasn't had to pay for the whole of the child's life and has got off lightly in these instances - although admittedly it may be a shock.

It makes me mad that even women feel that the men are hard done by. It is possible to prevent pregnancy. Don't have one night stands, is one option.

1/99 (pill) x 1/97 (condom) = a 1 in 9603 chance of concieving on a one night stand whilst using the recommended protection.

I personally believe most CSA cases are between women/men in ongoing relationships which are now broken down.

Your problem with your fella has nothing to do with the CSA really.
