I see you have worked out the difference between slander and libel now, good work for a "JP"
P.S Your link for miss representation, is for in effect inducing someone into entering a contract eg parting with money. It's nothing to do with libel or slander as you were incorrectly referring to it earlier in this thread0 -
I was getting bored of this thread, but I'm having nice chuckle this morning, thx KJEG can't wait for you next installment of hilarity.0

Perhaps the mods should be thanked for letting this thread continue.
A phrase that springs to mind is,
"If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck."
@Spank, I agree.
Well done fwor and TakeThis. :beer:Move along, nothing to see.0 -

Nice useful, factual post:Ok - Gatman's input changes the balance slightly - for the worse, if you're a buyer. The current count (including this thread and the other one on this forum) is now 18 newcomers who have joined this forum to say something about their experience of Mansion. The result so far is:
Negative - no TV received: 14
Positive (or OK) response: 4
So... it ~still~ looks to be an extremely high-risk way to buy a budget TV.
A recent post that reminds me of my teenage daughters going through another difficult phase and always wanting to have the last word (there are better examples but the moderator deems it better that they are removed):Also, never misrepresent me again by editing my comments or make libelous statements against me otherwise I will make an application against you.
If I remember correctly, KJEG was going to make one last post giving us the outcome of the visit he had from Virgin and the let us know if the TV was HDCP compliant. Entertaining as it may be that he continues his diatribe, but the more we give this guy the “oxygen of publicity” by replying to his ravings the more it distracts from the fact that there are a lot of people apparently being ripped off by Mansion.
Alternatively, as I've seen suggested on some other "rant" threads, we could all be contributing to someone's thesis!Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.0 -
........... and my opinion as to the quality from someone whom has owned an electronics manufacturing company for over 20 years............. as a qualified electronics engineer with over 35 years of electronic manufacturing experience.I used to own an electronics manufacturing company............
KJEG, wanting to buy a new T.V., decides to buy a Chinese cheapie from a dodgy online dealer, rather than go to the nearest dealer in Panasonic, Sony, or even Lowe.
Is it any wonder people are sceptical?Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Hi, everybody.
Having read some - not all! - of this thread I have decided to sign up to the forum to add my recent experience with Mansion.
I appreciate that as a newbie here my views have little credibility but I'll post my story nevertheless.
On April 2nd my old CRT Beko 28" failed to de-Gauss leaving me with a psychedelic TV experience of crazy colouration. It was 9 years old and had served me very well.
I went online to find a replacement and, faced with limited assets, I looked for 'Cheap'. After a morning's searching I decided to risk the Mansion 32". The lack of independent reviews concerned me a bit but I put that down to their being new. I didn't find this thread back then and wouldn't have proceeded if I had.
However, the technical specs seemed to equal much more expensive TVs, I've no prejudice against Far Eastern electronics per se and the price beat everything else I could find hands down. It lacks an HD digibox which is a shame - but, hey, for the money I can live with that for now - and they offered next day delivery .....
So I went to their site and ordered the 32" model. It struck me as odd that they didn't ask for the debit card's security number at the time.
About 2 hours later I got a phone call from a woman at Mansion saying that, due to prior orders, delivery will take 7 days (as I recall) - do I still want to order? I did, so she then said that the website was undergoing maintenance, hence it hadn't asked for the debit card security number which I then gave her.
I've checked my bank statement recently and the agreed total was deducted from my account the following day, on April 3rd - and no more!
I then waited about ten days and checked my order on their website - "Still Processing". I tried to phone - engaged. About an hour later, on just my second attempt, I got through - I think to the same woman I spoke to previously. Her response was ''7 to 10 working days." She was polite but sounded, at a guess, tired of saying the same old thing. As we'd just had Easter and lost working 4 days I had a while to wait yet.
Then, on Monday 16th I got an email from 'Kim' at Mansion saying that my item had been dispatched via Parcel Force and would arrive the next day between 9-5:30.
It didn't arrive on Tuesday. It didn't arrive on Wednesday, either - but it did arrive on Thursday 19th.
Bear in mind, I live in the Outer Hebrides. Usually our mail is astonishingly swift but I've not much experience of Parcel Force, tbh. Anyway, I guess the point is I got my TV!
Taking Easter + one weekend off I make that 11 working days from order to delivery.
It was angsty enough watching the bizarre colours on the old Beko for 17 days, I'm just glad I wasn't worrying that I was being ripped off - I would have been had I found this thread earlier!
So, regarding Mansion's service, I have to say that they have fulfilled our contract almost perfectly - the free HDMI lead hasn't appeared or been mentioned by them - nor enquired about on my part either, though. If it comes, great, but it was the telly I wanted!
Those who have suffered delays and hassle have my every sympathy. Perhaps I've just been very lucky.
I'll give my opinion of the TV itself in a separate post as it is really a separate matter.0
