    Morning all

Happy birthday to Bargainbabe and many congrats to the Gingham Ribbons :D

I'm still sat in bed, with a bucket of tea and a bunch of bananas for brekkie - I'm trying very hard not to get 'that' hangover which is threatening :D I blame that Nelski woman you know - she arrived on my doorstep on her way home last night with mucho vino and Baileys and then we went to my local pub for a delish meal (and more wine) Joined in the pub quiz too - didn't win but it was good fun.

Don't need to do much in the way of OS today - house is clean (mainly cos the tribe are all away). Need to do lots of ironing - I can put a dvd on a chill with that anyway.

Having 2 more estate agents round today for valuations and I've sorted out getting the bathrooms lino'd - been here 4 1/2 years and was always going to get round to it, but as usual, it takes a definite reason to get it done :p

Right, going to get on now. Nels is still fast asleep in the spare room, so I'll send her your way later

    Have a good day everyone.

ps thanks to everyone who has pm'd me. I'll try to reply to you all soon, but I need to be in the right mood IYKWIM :rotfl:

    Morning morning,

Well as much as the general vibe seems to be anti valentines I think the lack of people to have messaged so far shows there must be some loving going on somewhere! Ha!

I'm round at my parents again - though little sis is still fast asleep in bed! We're off to the art gallery today as they've got free art and craft stuff on which should be nice. :D

It does mean my house has been ignored - so much for getting back on track with flying while on hols!

I'm also going to try to get to the gym later as I've put on about a stone since I joined in with all this home cooking! However, I am then being taken for dinner by my best friend as a treat. Doh!

Have a good day all. Love and hugs to you all.

Kaz you little liar! I found you a perfect man and you said no!

Twink yes I did forget about the mouse, he must still be behind the bookcase as the cat only moved from there when I put her food down. My cat has sense, a bird in the hand and all that.

This morning I have woken with the lurgy. My lovely neighbour has taken DD to school for me. DH phoned from work to say my Valentines pressies were stashed in his sock drawer. I'm not quite sure what to make of the card he sent me. But he did buy me a CD I wanted and a Bette Midler film I thought I would never find on DVD. Also some Thorntons choccies so maybe I will forgive him about the card.

    Many Happy Returns Bargain Babe
    & Congratulations to GR

No valentines celebrations here for OH & Myself, if kids had been at school we may have gone out for lunch somewhere as he works nights and cant go out week evenings. Cant wait to see if the kids get cards or not.

Have been up since 7.30 and have done nothing so far :rotfl: did have a business phonecall but thats it, really dont know where the last hour and half have gone.

Some more paperwork this morning. Need to hoover and wash floors and swish bathrooms. Its so muddy outside that between puppy and the kids I can no longer see what colour the floors really are. Also need to do some washing and ironing - not loads though.

OH is taking kids swimming this afternoon and we are booked up the next two days so hasnt been the most restful of holidays but DD & DS are happy. Didnt have burgers last night so will have that for dinner today.

Thats it for now, take care.x
  • Hi all

((Hugs)) to ageandjo, kyle and anyone else needing one today. Edited to say Happy Birthday Bargain Babe

DH gone off to work, we do valentines in this house but don't spend loads of money. We swap cards (I make my own when I have time), special HM meal, and some choccies from the xmas sales cupboard - who said romance was dead?

SC meal last night was a disaster so am off to read *all* the SC threads to work out where I went wrong :( Taking the kids to mums and toddlers to have their photos taken (DS2 has black eyes *both sides* from walking into things so not sure how they will turn out) then got to clean the kitchen floor, do some baking, clean up and do the prep for our special dinner tonight.

    Have a great day everyone

    Happy Valentine's day :smileyhea

We had a great day yesterday. I got a phone call from my hysterical partner yesterday - she found out she was on a list for promotion to the next grade up (we are both Civil Servants). So I took out for a nice lunch to celebrate. She is gradually coming down to earth today.

We are having a steak dinner for two at home tonight. We get each other a card and a small present because we buy each other small presents all year round, it doesn't need to be Valentine's day to do that!

Hope everyone has a good day

  • Morning all,
    (((((((ageandjo)))))))

    Happy birthday to Bargain Babe

We don't do Valentines here either - but as dh shot off to Edinburgh very early this morning, jolly good thing too. Tonight I'm taking a team of cubs to the unihoc competition until dh can get there from the airport, so ds1 (11) is going to Beavers in my stead to help the other leaders - bless! Honestly, sometimes I feel our whole life is fitted round Scouts.

Well the rabbit was a disaster. I took it out of the fridge and it stank:mad: Not just high game smell, but the sort of smell that had me retching. Quick defrost of chicken and we had the same casserole and HM taglitelle but with chicken, The kids have taken the leftovers to school for lunch as it was delish. The new pasta m/c worked fine this time - I made the dough softer - plus I didn't have my MIL hanging overr my shoulder going "Anthony's (her other son) doesn't make that noise" Well, bully for bl@@@y Anthony!!!!:D

Tonight will be more pasta (out of a packet) with a tomato and bacon sauce - is that Amatriciana - I can never remember.
Lunch - wedges and mushy peas - yum

Moggins - the mouse story had me in stitches:T

Need to go and tidy up and then carry on with knitting a hat for my Dad. I made one of those Norwegian ones with ear flaps but no tassels for ds2 last week in blue and grey stripes - now my Dad wants one in plain navy and also ds2's teacher wants one in black. Maybe it could be her end of year pressie instead of HM biccies

    Have a good day everyone
