True, I didn't really have a problem meeting up, the problem what I did have was he wanted to spend the weekend with me at my house
I suggested he stay in a hotel as we had only been speaking for two weeks and I didn't think that was a good idea, next minute he's using my age as an excuse. It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0 -
I think its better to meet up as early as possible, people can appear very different on line then in real lifeVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0

Perhaps next time you can restrict your search to peolpe who live a lot nearer. That way you can meet without either of you having to make arrangements to stay overnight.
Goof luck!I need to make a new list for 2014
think of something to put on it!:rotfl:
Try harder for 2014 as I never managed it in 2012 or 20130 -

Thanks but he made contact with me and his profile said he lived 6 miles away. He said he amended his address details as I only accepted people that live within 18 miles......................Oh crumbs the penny has just dropped, he has been telling me what I want to hear. Wow I got played. It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0 -

Oh dear, then I think the message is incredibly clear....
To be honest, the moment the guy had mentioned staying at my house, i would have booted him out of my 'could be prince charming' list. What decent man would suggest such a thing having never met???? Be prepared to lower some expectations in terms of age/size/job etc... but don't accept anything that suggest even a hint of lack of respect and courtesy.
You'll get use to the users...and you'll get used to not get your hopes to high before actually meeting up. I had so many disappointments feeling confident that things would go well when they didn't, either because they turned out to be quite different to their pictures, or I hardly recognise in real life the personality they were portraying on line. Ironically, I was quite confident that my man and I would get along because we had so much in common and the conversation had flown really well on the phone, but his picture just didn't do it for me at all. I almost cancelled our meeting (it was only about 2 degrees and we were due to go for a walk by the beach!!!). Thank God I didn't, the second I saw him, I couldn't believe he had put such a dreadful picture of himself online, he was very attractive. I was so surprised, the first thing I told him was that his picture really did do him justice! I got it later, he just isn't photogenic at all, which turned out a blessing as I'm sure many girls signed off because of it and left him all for me!!!0 -
? what is ick
yucky! gross! who'd want to stay in the house of a TOTAL STRANGER in a romantic context? I mean, ok if he said "I want to come over for a shag, how about it" but this is a decitful way of getting the same thing. So ICK!Debt free 4th April 2007.
