I think he is calling your bluff to make you meet sooner. Or like someone else said he possibly already met up with somebody else he was talking to.

I have a feeling your right. Why did you use my age as an excuse though?

Because if he says that he is worried about you being 12 years younger than him, he thinks this will make you think he's an honourable man with good intentions and make you more likely to think you can trust him and meet up.

I would comment though that however much you like the conversations through a computer, sooner or later any relationship has to become real and you need to meet up- primarily because the man you think you are talking to online might be totally different form the real one! Speaking online can feel safe, but sooner or later you have to take the step- or you just have a penfriend. As has been suggested, it is easy to meet up safely and not put yourself at risk, so take the leap next time and meet the person you're speaking to.
    Good luck.

You obviously feel connected to him, I think you have to bite the bullet at this point and go for a drink/coffee then you know for real. I think he probably wants to move past the talking on the net bit which is fair enough, but the fact that you care at this point means I think you should just give it a go.

I think that ship has sailed, he hasn't returned my messages so I guess he was playing cool and because I never played to his fiddle he has tossed me aside of someone that will met up quick.

oh, I didn't mean this one. He's just a random bloke from the internet and not worth thinking about.

Next time, next man. One week, coffee.

I chatted to my OH for 6 months before we met, and when we did meet it was like we knew each other really well already:D:D
You could try messaging him again hun, to see exactly what he's thinking;):D

I chatted to my now-husband for 2 or 3 months before we met in person. I'd say that's a good amount of time, but don't let anyone make you feel that you have to do something you're not 100% about. If you lose this guy then you'll just have to chalk it up to experience :(

I sent him one last message about 15 minutes ago and he has not responded, therefore nice as everything was I am going to leave it. I don't want it to look like i'm throwing myself at him so he can click his fingers and i'm there.

I guess I should just remove him and move on. :(

yes, make plans to meet within a week of starting chatting, with the meet up within a week. No point spending ages emailing when you could meet and have no spark. Or in fact never meet.

You are there to meet people, so get on and meet them. Plemty of time wsters who want to "wait before meeting" you need to ask why? whats the risk of just meeting for a quick coffee/drink after work.

He lives 159 miles away so a quick drink would never work. :(
