I put a large bowl of boiling water & lemon juice in the oven. Set it too high & leave for 30 mins.
The steam lifts all the grease off & you just need to wipe it down while it's still very warm.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
I know that this is not MSE (I do use Oven Pride myself), but a friend of mine had enough of trying to clean her cooker, probably needs replacing but landlord won't do that, so she actually had professional cleaner in. She said it was probably the best money she has ever spent, the cooker was taken apart and dipped. She now has a spotless one and a much more efficient one.A smile costs little but creates much0

You're not going to believe this!
I've been digging in the back of the cupboard under the kitchen sink and have found a HUGE bottle (probably 1/2 full) of Oven Pride!:j:j:j
Obviously bought, used & shoved to the back - probably to keep it out of the cats' way as they have a tendancy for liking things they shouldn't eat/drink!!!!!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Cheap cola will remove baked on carbonised stuff from both the oven bottom or inside a saucepan pour in and soak. Or Malt vinegar in a bowl with some water and put in a bowl and oven put on for 20 mins to steam it on. Same as Lemon only cheaper.
Soda Crystals mixed with basics/value liquid washing detergent small quantities and water put into spray bottle will also help shift carbonised or greasy dirt.
Believe me they work. I refuse to pay over £3 for cillit bang type stuff and it stinks. All I want in a cleaner is a cleaner, no scents. This last one will clean a shower cubicle of fatty and soap deposit build up. A vinegar soaked paper wadding popped into a sandwich bag and tied over a tap and left for an hour will remove limescale and brighten up a tap.

I'm having someone come on Tuesday to do mine:o It will be cheaper than me having to be sorted out by the osteopath as last time I did it I hurt my neck trying to get the oven pride off the back of the oven plus the fan is greasy and there's no way DH will risk distmantling the oven so we can get to it.0 -

Money costs are relative at the end of the day, but I will admit, having seen hers, having the oven cleaned that way would be worth every penny in my eyes. One job I loath with a passion:oA smile costs little but creates much0 -
OMG, my oven looks as good as it did the day we bought it. Definately worth every penny as even though I thought it looked good when I'd done it with Oven Pride it wasn't compared to how it looks now.
Am waiting for a heavy duty oven liner for the bottom of the oven to arrive and I will now clean it regularly:o to keep it spick and span.0 -
I just got inspired at 3 am in the morning to go clean my oven glassware and the bottoms of the grill and fan oven. I used soda crystals combined with some biological washing detergent in some hottish water and scrubbed. Main door glass had not been done for a while, so I used one of those window scraper things you use to trim excess paint from window edges. Baked on carbon came off. If you're wondering why I am up it the illness that I have that makes it nigh on impossible to sleep sometimes, yet needing a whole 4 - 5 hours in bed in the day sometimes. My green scourer is now a bit gunky black, but it will clean up with some soaking.0

It must be that time of year I cleaned my bottom oven this weekend, just the less used easier top oven left to do.
I used the steam cleaner to remove the easier grim then it was good old fashioned brillo pads and elbow grease.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........
