For bits of food that stick to the oven I use hot soapy water and scrape with the plastic thing I got with my freezer for scraping the ice off when defrosting. It does the job without scratching the oven.
  • I have a bad back and get someone in to do a 'deep clean' of my oven, about once a year. The rest of the time I can manage, but it's worth every penny to get it professionally done, believe me.
    Normal people worry me.

Was £50 for mine but he was here for nearly 3 hours. It really does look like it's a brand new oven that's never been used. DH will help me do the oven by taking apart the glass door and cleaning that but he's also amazed by it.

Does you oven have self clean sides?

My bottom oven you have to clean top, bottom and sides plus two chrome side runner and three shelves. Glass door. What about the fan?

Top oven top, bottom back, front, and sides plus two chrome runners and one shelf. Do they include the grill pan?

  • Cost is £50 for me also - and I don't have those stay clean sides in my (single) oven. It's a drop down door though and if I take it off - to reach right inside the oven - I can never get it back on properly!
So, mine's like yours Rikki and the chrome runners and both shelves get cleaned, plus sides, bottom and top. Not the grill pan though, but I expect he would if I asked.

I wished I'd of asked all these questions before I had an oven cleaning frenzie. :rotfl:

Note to self: Ask on mse before starting any mammoth cleaning session.

Same as mine plus he also took the door off and apart and cleaned my grill. BTW my grill had been washed after I'd last used it. Don't want anyone thinking I'd left that manky and full of fat-lols

Oh, and my heavy duty non stick liner arrived today as well so that's in place. I ordered from http://nonstickkitchen.com/store/product_details.asp?pId=4 cheaper than Lakeland
