  • When I bake bread I place a bowl of water in the bottom on the oven... when the bread comes out I close the door... eat my dinner!

After dinner the over in cool and the dirt just wipes away :D

I've never cleaned our oven... it's starting to smoke so time for another new (second hand) one soon :p

This seems very NOT moneysaving or OS to me!

If you cleaned it, it would stop smoking!

As my oven is quite low and my joints don't bend as they used to I'm afarid that I pay a company to come and do a deep clean about once every 18 months:o .Costs me about £50 but worth every penny.I have a Remoska so my oven only really goes on if I am havinga big bake up of cakes .

Thats good Jackie, is that for one oven or a full oven & grill/small oven?

Mine has stay clean sides, so I use Mr Muscle or Oven Pride on the inside doors & the bottom.

My grill/little oven smokes a bit though, despite not being very dirty:(

  • I hadnt used my oven in over a year(due to having a remoska, and due to it having a very badly stained inner glass door)...after reading about it on here i bought Oven pride..Wow,my oven was transfored back to new...inner racks, shiny stainless steel, but best of all the inner glass door is spotless(mine slides out,so i just left it in the oven pride bag with the racks overnight, and all the burnt on debris rinsed off in the morning)
Im now on "maintenance" clean, dont want it to ever need soaked in Oven pride again..so its a quick spray and wipe down with Mr Muscle now.

    Hello everyone

I was looking for oven cleaning tips on here, there are many suggestions put forward.

So rather than having to search through loads of replies I thought that I would set up a poll for people to cast their vote.

Post your choice for the 'other' category, if you like.

As your thread has dropped down the Old Style board I've added it to the existing thread on cleaning the oven to keep the replies together, however I've left the poll up so that others can still add to it.

  • Hi all,

I have got a rangemaster toledo double oven cooker but my problem is this.

I am ashamed to say I have been having some issues and have been very depressed lately and have let things slip. My hob is absolutely covered in what can only be lumps of grease/oil etc. Now the instructions say I should only use like washing up liquid and warm water, but this aint cutting it!!! I can get some of the grime off but some of its like hard and all the scrubbing in the world aint shifting it!:eek:

any ideas what would work peeps? I am desperate and I cant use harsh cleaners etc.

    thanks
