I recently got Cif Oven Cleaner. I was really impressed, it is fume free and gentle on your hands, otheres I read said wear gloves, just spray on bottom of oven and then on shelves. Leave for 15-60 mins then wipe off. I think it was about £2.80 and comes in a bright lime green squirty spray.

• going off it slightly

if you have a new or just cleaned oven.

mix couple of spoons of bicarbonate soda with water and paint all the inside, then whenever cooker needs cleaning it just wipes off really easily. very cheap too.

Hello newcook

There are lots of oven cleaning threads in the 'Old Style' board. Have you had a look at the Old Style Indexed Collections?

I'll move your thread to the 'Old Style' board.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

Regards

Tried Oven Pride, to be honest nothing more comes off than when I soak them in a bio washing powder and hot water solution........for the inside I put a oven dish of vinegar in when it's warm. Not impressed with Oven Pride at all.
One day I might be more organised...........

I've started using a strong solution of diluted soda crystals on mine. Over the last 2 or 3 weeks since I've been a good girl:D I've given it a 20 min soak and then a good scrub once a week and it's nearly 100% back to how it should look.

I soak the racks and grill pan in the bath with soda crystals to. Gunk just slides off.

Wish I'd discovered them years ago.
• used the cif oven cleaner and left on for two hours. not bad, but then got the bar keepers friend out to give it more oomph and it got rid of even the toughest of stains. very impressive!
in my less stingy days i used to pay someone to come in and clean it every month...aaaaaah those were the days!
