The grill element in the top of the oven also get spattered with grease from roasting, so when you use it the smoke it produces as it burns off, well.......
I have that same problem, it smokes and smells yuk for a while and always sets the smoke alarm off. Most annoying. :mad:AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Lakeland sell something that you can paint on (Ovenmate, it's expensive though ...) - I assume that it would be less 'runny' than the ovenpride.0

Personally with my own it burns off within a couple of mins of putting the grill on, it's just such a pain for those two mins and not just a little bit embarrassing if i've got people round for lunch.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

I have an oven in need of a long overdue clean (several years
) It is an electric fan oven, I have tried in the past to clean it with various things such as mr muscle, oven pride etc. but cannot get the glass clean and also am worried about cleaning the inside as it is sort of rough to the touch..
I have just got myself some stardrops - these seem to be recommended a lot on here so I was wondering if I could use them?
It is quite bad now and whenever I cook a roast or whatever It gets really smoky inside and fills the house with smoke
Any ideas?Jun GC £250.00/£12.40 NSD 3 / 30

... but you've already tried that - should have read your post properly...
For grubby oven glass, I just used washing-up liquid and lots of scrubbing, although bicarb might have come into it at some point. It came out fine, although it took ages.Old-styler, crafter and freebie junkie!Frogga's Amazing Weight Loss Campaign: Member no.20 since 2/9/07 -- lost 10lbWedding bells 04/10/08

Stardrops brought mine up a treat. and it doesn't leave a smell.
also used asda's K-blast powder too. dampened down the bottom, sprinkled it on and used it to scrub the burnt bits off.
good luck!0
