Egg/Barclaycard PPI Claim Rejected-FOS next?

Many thanks dunstonh, my account has not been closed since originally setup with egg, so should hopefully mean BC have this information. I suspect i didnt have payment protection on it, as believe BC would have disclosed this, but not 100% certain either way though as was just an online system and dont have any statements.

Just a little update on my good news after 13 months with the fos I received a letter from them yesterday to say Barclaycard would like to make me an offer to settle my complaint, inline with fos guidelines and will calculate the amount shortly but this can take 8-10 weeks upon receiving my acceptance.

I did the same and they say they cant find any records of my Egg account, but they must have had them, as they sent me a barclay card when they took over?!

No I don't have any deatails of the credit card it was a few years ago, but wouldn't you think they could find my deatails, as the took over and like I said they must have had my deatails to send me a Barclay credit card?!

They may have destroyed details. So, have you got the account number for the Barclaycard? because if you have, you send them the complaint form, not Egg.

If you want to complain to Egg, you need to send them a SAR and £10 to see what info they have left, there is a template on the front page.

I have a barclay acc number I did send it to barclay, but ok i will send a SAR, many thanks for responding, it's my first time on this forum!!

Just a heads up, i have received a similar offer "to settle my complaint" from Barclays (after going to the FOS) I was told it would take 8 weeks but when I rang up FOS after the 8th week, they told me that Barclaycard / Barclays can now take 12 weeks to respond.
