Barclaycard recieved my application on the 9th December and I got a reply on the 26th January. Prior to that, they wrote to me saying that they've received the complaint and that they hoped to respond to me by the 2nd Feb 2012.

Egg transfered to Barclaycard last October (I think) so I'd be assuming that Barclaycars should have the statements.

I had this also when I logged on to my Egg online account (Showing nothing), I sent them a message using the secure messaging service on the account and they posted out the detail to me for my 3 previous accounts with them within a few days (even though I didnt have any details of the loan other than it being through them, I just asked for all account statement details from any loan linked to my online account).

If you look at the statements you were getting from Egg online, you should be able to see if you were paying PPI or Credit Card Protection. Thats how I knew that I was paying it.

Anyone had any luck with Egg / Barclaycard?

I received a letter yesterday saying that they could not find my account with the details i had given. Passed on the Egg card number and my previous address that the card applied to. is there any way to push this further. i would have thought that sice they took over egg that they would be taking over any info and potential liabilities that egg may have had

If you closed the account before Barclays took over then they would not normally have any details on the closed accounts. They did take on the liability but that doesnt mean they had to take on old records.

Quick update. FOS received my complaint on the 2nd Feb and have advised it may be up to 4 weeks before they come back to me.

Fingers crossed.

The records are destroyed after a period. Data protection requires it. A closed account requires very little record keeping. As it was closed in 2007, there may be some records with BC but likely to be limited. Although you may get lucky,
