So sellers fees.... If I use standard paypal like I am now, an item sells for 99p, I will pay between 1.4-3.4% +20p, so fees of 21p-23p for that item?
With micro payments, a 99p sale would be 10p-ish
Is that right?
PP fees must include the postage , so % of overall total
examples of some of mine from this weekend
Sell £.........Postage......Total....... PP Fee
£2............. £3.45........£5.45...... .39p
99p............£2.40.........£3.39........32p
£1.24..........£1.20.........£2.44........28p
£10.50.........£2.15........£12.65.......63p
An then still ebay 10% to come off......
sorry for all the ... couldn't get it to display with spaces0 -
oh well , bin that idea then
I don't believe that is the case, I use mine on all of my selling accounts- private and business.
The problem is, as someone has already stated, you have to choose when you set the listing up whether to put in your standard or your micro account I do get it wrong sometimes. I recently had a £1,50 item go for £30+ so paid extra fees as it went to my micro account.
You cannot change which account the payment goes to once auction finishes unless they buy more than one item and ask for a revised invoice as then it is possible to change the paypal ID on the invoice.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. soolin, is this selected at the payment stage when listing, so I would need to use a different email address to the new Micro PP and put this email address in at the payment stage
Maybe it was you that mentioned it elsewhere as it was the first I had heard of it
The items that I think are more valuable and will sell at higher price I'm keeping for FLW on Ebay so I think all the 99p items would be better with this micro payment as I don't think they will go for much0 -
Oh man, I think I really haven't worked out this sellers fees properly
So I sold a pair of shoes for 99p, with £2.50 postage. Postage actually cost me £2.48, so after pp fees and ebay 10% Ive made a grand total of about 32p??
Is that right? Can't think of anything smart to put here...0 -

My guesstimate would be
PP fees..................32p
Eb I round up so.... 10p
so £3.49 less £2.48 postage = £1.01
£1.01 less fees 42p = 59p profit0 -
What do you find the best way is to list items? Take all your photos first then list, or take one photo, list item, take another photo, list item... etc
How do you work out p&p charges and starting bid? When do find the best day to end auction is?
Sorry for lots of q's, newbie Ebayer ! Thanks0 -

My system is
Take photo, weigh, note down weight, repeat, repeat etc etc
Start piles of similar things, so when listing you can just hit sell similar and info all still there, category etc
Then just start working through listing those piles
I only list items I think should start at more than 99p on free listing weekends
Things I just want rid of get listed at 99p
My auctions always end on a Fri,Sat & Sun between 6.30-10.30pm
Which means I list for 5 & 7 day listings on a Tue, Fri, Sat and Sun night
I use the Ebay postage estimater/RM and add on another few grams to accommodate bag/packaging as this could be just enough to tip over into next weight category
I have just started listing nearly all my stuff as 2nd class
I round up the postage price and then only add on cost of packaging, the bags I use cost from 20p-50p, most times I add on 30p- more if I need to.
Rounding up and adding on the same gives a uniform look to my postage so most often than not it all falls into a pattern
I offer combined postage on everything and try to be honest in every description, if its marked, slightly blemished etc state that
Then just sit back and relax...............
Er I mean check all the time to see how many watchers you have, oooohhh a bid, anymore? worry that nothing will sell, sitting watching the last few minutes go by on an item as last minute bids come in.....then stress out your nut as you organise and pack everything up for the PO , hoping that there isn't a big Queue when you get there
As for what to sell things at , just have a look on ebay and see if its already being sold and how its doing
Good Luck0 -
I have applied for a Micro account, should be updated in a couple of days according to PayPal, so hoping that makes a difference on the fees.
Have managed my 2 bags for the week and sorted out some bits for a charity bag as well0 -
another bag sorted today, only listed as 2 items though, seeing how they go in bundles rather than individually, might save me a few pennies on the fees.
Bids now upto £16 :T on the ones I had listed before, with lots of watchers, fingers crossed, still another day a bit to go.
Should be able to sort another bag of bits to list tomorrow too, am now walking around the house with my ebay goggles on, if its not nailed down, it is at risk :rotfl:0
