I'm not bothered if things don't sell straight away - I just relist until they do

I've just sorted my bag for today and am getting organised, ready to list, quick question first though.
How do you factor selling fees into your sales? If I list for 99p, by the time I have paid ebay fees and paypal fees, I'd be left with just a few pence. I was thinking of adding 25p to the P&P costs to help a little, what do you do?0 -
Could I just sound a quick note of caution here? Ebay sometimes ask sellers to re-register their accounts as business sellers. If they do then you won't be allowed to continue selling until you do. The main advantage of being a business seller on Ebay is lower fees however you are NOT allowed to use the free listings days facility.
The one thing that seems to trigger this demand from Ebay more than anything else is selling loads of clothes starting at 99p especially if you sell different sizes. So it may be a good idea to not hit the 100 free items entirely in the clothes market every month.
Good luck with your challenge.
Thanks for the tip .... I will keep a note of this - I have the kids clothing and mine - So would you think this would arise suspicion ??Ebay Bag A Day Challenge 2012- :staradmin

nicola00 - Well your off on a very good start - Good luck with all the others ending too - You will have to let us know how you go on with them when they end
alionaear - Well done on your first star :T:T:T
Florenceem - Welcome and I have added you to the list
Helen Jelly - Well done on your star :T:T:T
Yes I have a habit of checking them, also - even more if its near the ending time ...I like counting the watchers too
sketchingkari - Welcome to the challenge and glad to hear your off to a good start
I usually include 50p per item on postage costs as this is my average for bubble wrap , paper , bags etc that I use etc . Depending on how much I am listing for I add around another 60p to cover fees . This all goes on my postage price . I always try and post second class also as you can save alot of money by the end of the week doing this rather than first class - around 20p per parcel - sometimes more . I also check on the item what the average postage costs are on ebay people are charging and try to stay close to it . And if I am to come at a loss I add the extra amount on another listing - Usually bin items so I still am covered by the grand total at the end of the week - If this makes sense !!?!
:TWELL DONE TO EVERYONE - YOUR ALL DOING VERY WELL :T
I didn't manage my star yesterdayso will try and list as much as possible over the weekend to make up for it

Please be very very careful adding more than a few pence to stamp cost for p and p. Buyers don't expect to pay for anything other than the stamp and a bit of packaging and you really must be aiming to get 5* for every transaction, too many 4 or lower stars and you run real risks with your account.
Don't just watch your headline stars either, you must make a habit of checking your expanded dashboard and making sure no one has left any 1 or 2* ratings.
If you do sell a lot of low end items then you can save money with a PayPal micro account, there should be a thread somewhere on the eBay forumI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes I second that soolin , as I have free postage on half my items I know will sell and half of my BIN items so I know I am covered overall on the dashboard . I must admit it did take some time to get it right without losing out or having a negative impact on my account. Also I sometimes throw in a few items with free postage that I just want out of the way and make very little on as I know I will be going to the po office anyway and packaging costs are covered like dvd's and easy to pack items .Ebay Bag A Day Challenge 2012- :staradmin
