They've mainly been having the FLW's every other week but the last one or the one before that had a 3 week gap in between them.
I'm doing alright with mine so far. I made £110 last time with which I bought an iphone (second hand 3g) and will put the rest towards our holiday. This time round, I have sold DD's bike (money to her) and the childrens old high chair from Nanny's house (When that's paid for the money will go to her).
I've only got 1 bid on the rest of my 27 items listed so am hoping for a flurry of activity in the last few hours. If they don't sell this time, I'm adding the P&P back on and starting each and every item at 99p. For the big items, I might clump them together too. Not sure. I have a pair of lights at the moment which are on their second listing. I might bung them up on the facebook selling page. It's got to be worth a punt surely? Perhaps I'll eve get a £10 for them!

    Hello all you lovely people,

I was very very lazy last week and listed nothing!
So this week have to get my finger out and do overtime.

Despite my worries most of the items I listed the weekend before sold and I managed to get £145 before ebay fees so pretty pleased about it.

Could someone with the paypal micro account explain to me how to find out if my account is micro or not please. I changed one of my paypal accounts to micro a few days ago and when finished got a message saying it might take a couple of days to process the change. However, I had no confirmation of any sort to say it's been done. How do I check for sure?

Also, if you have 2 paypal accounts (micro and normal) do your ebay fees get split up and come off both or just one of them?

I have a few auctions ending just after midnight this evening so will wait up for them. So far I have 4 items which are going to sell with 3 of them having had the prices put up a little and the postage removed. I've also sold a pair of curtains which I sold last time and then had the bid removed. I left the P&P on them though because they're heavy!

I have a buyer (bought 2 items that ended at We) - wanted 2 items that finish next We. Asked could I take them off sale/sell them to her - then I wouldn't have to pay final fees. I am not losing my 100% Fb - so I relisted the 2 items for 1 day so buyer could buy them and I would do combined postage. Well - now someone else has put a bid on 1 item - first buyer is not happy! :(

It's not your fault if someone else has put in a bid in fact it's good as if buyer number 1 wants them then they should bid again. I would tell her that your sorry but you can not control who bids on your items (in a really nice way) And say if she does win them you will add them to her package already and you will not charge her extra postage.

E bay really has changed in only a year there are far more buyers willing to put the boot in now :S

  • Just a quick question- I think I need to separate my listings- my bnwt buy to sell and my declutter- I have set up a new account but Im going to use oh's account until I can list more than 10 items. Can I use his account but with my paypal?

Got some more bin stock- aiming for 20 listings by the end of March (each will have variations so quite a lot for me)- I think Im on about 10 at the moment and a couple I need to put on today. Now have over £300 in my paypal so not long to go before I can pay that credit card off :)

Everyone is doing really well- lets hope for a FLW this week!

Well I have managed to sell 7 items from my FLW sales which finished just after midnight. Several items went unsold so I have gone into the auction clicked sell similar and put the P&P back on and dropped the start price to 99p. I WILL get rid of the clutter that abounds in this house, I WILL!
I don't think I'll actually get very much money for this lot after all is said and done but at least the stuff will be gone and I will have had some money for it.
DH has another pair of jeans for me to relist so I may well stick them on today. DD also has some outgrown clothing which I need to get from her to relist.
I am not getting sales on DD's clothes whereas anything I have put on for DS is sold on the 1st or 2nd attempt. It's very strange. I think perhaps it's because boys are so much harder on their clothing and therefore there is less second hand boys stuff available. What do you think? Anyone else found this or am I talking bunkum?

    Hi Everyone

I have been reading up on this thread today. Think its a great idea!

Was wonderinf if I could get in on the action! :) saving to go on holiday in july so need all the money I can get!

I have listing a few things on eBay last week but not sure I made any money!

I sold a book that I read ages ago and haven't looked at it again. It was quite heavy and I looked at other peoples postage and set it at the same price £3. The book went for 99p but when I posted it yesterday it cost me £3.71 then you have the fees on top of it

was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what the best way to post things?

I have been using jiffy bags for everything as you can get 4 for £1 in the £1 shop

    thanks

Invest in a set of basic digital scales, mine cost around £6 from Argos. Always check your postage costs, never guess them as it can be disastrous both to over estimate and to under estimate.

Frankly, if a book is cheap but heavy I tend not to bother as the fees eat up most of the profit, or in yoru case you end up with a loss.

Royal mail is better for these lighter items, it gets cheaper to use couriers once you exceed a couple of KGs. The other sellers may wel have been businesses who get preferential rates due to very high amounts of post, or else they just made a mistake as well.
