nicola00 Well done :T thats £20 extra for you this week ..It soon adds up doesn't it :o

Yeah its getting there, I think the £20 should be achievable every week. (she says fingers crossed)

I know I'll do more on the FLW but if I can do £20 off my 99p or less items then I'll be chuffed with that. I'm also defo going to start using the micro payments because that would have made a big difference this week, only made 20-30p on some items

hi everyone, i am not part of this challenge so hope you dont mind me posting here :)
i am starting ebaying last month for the first time, and was just wondering for the people who put 20+ items on at a time , how do you post them? i do about 7 at a time and list once a week and this is because the first time i went to my nearest post office with 12 parcels, the guy behind the counter was so angry at me! it took him AGES to get them all sorted, by which time a massive que had started and people (mostly elderly) get so annoyed waiting! how do you send off all your packages? thanks for any advice :D xx

I do the same as you. Not taking part in the challenge, but like to read the thread, I also try and list every week. Yesterday, I had 6 parcels to send and wasn't feeling too well. My O.H went for me. He said that the post office was empty (it was about 2pm) but the woman behind the counter acted as if it was a huge inconvenience for her. I really annoyed me as I purposely never buy my postage online beforehand as I try to support the local P.O. there are signs all over it saying 'use it or lose it, support your post office'. But with service like that, I feel like going elsewhere. I try and go when I think it won't be busy, never go straight after morning school run as its too busy. I hate being made to feel like its too much effort, especially when I am sending parcels every week.

  • im glad im not the only one!! my post office is a small local one too and really the only people i see in there are elderly people collecting there benefits. its always the same mad behind the counter and hes just so rude!! im begining to not care though, if i let it get to me i dont think id go any more and that would be the end of my ebaying! thanks for the support and advice everyone xx

    Ala Mr Burns - 'Excellent!'.
I know what i'm spending my evening doing. Thank you :)
  • Hi all, just listed another 7 items, so 1 star for this week so far. Not sure if any of these items will sell (old DVDs, etc) but will wait and see.

Took lots of pics of books to sell but checking on ebay just now there's simply no money in it :( lots of book companies selling them so cheap that the price of the book wouldn't even cover the cost of postage (if that makes sense)

How is everyone getting rid of their books? or is charity shop my only option here?

Great that it's free listing this w/end, I've got a few items to relist:j

Yeah I have tons of books to list too - But have put it off for months as ebay doesnt really go well with adult books ive found unless they are rare or recent :(

I find bundles go best on there -Like all action ones or all chic flick bundles etc - this way you can currier them too to save on postage if you put them in a box ...Might be worth you listing a bIn see how they go !?!!

    I usually find amazon is no good either for regular books , however I have got rid of the odd few on play and green met , and I am going to try preloved , gum tree , netmums , loot etc soon with them as i can take a bundle pic and offer individual prices too . As i have done quite well in the past with my daughters books or kiddie books on all these in the past { and suggested offers to and done okay }

There is a stall in the local market to me that they buy books off you for 50p - £1 each i think or you can swap books , ive not really looked into it yet , but you could see if you have something like that local if you want to just get rid of them - but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much cash in books these days with kindles etc going around !!

  • Thanks very much, I'll need to investigate regarding stalls like that. Luckily, I've not got many to get rid off:D

Ok, I'm now officially done for this week. 2 more bags listed today plus relisted some previously unsold items with higher starting price. :j
7 items ended earlier on and I honestly couldn't believe my eyes how much some things went for!!! Very very happy!!!

Hope everyone else is doing well too ;)
