How did I miss this?
Can I join - 1 bag per week?
I will start on Thurs with my first bagBest Wins - New York Trip, going Nov 2014: £350 House of Frazer Vouchers: £70 Handbag: Nitro Circus Live Tickets0 -
Morning all, I'd like to join you please.
I've been ebaying for years but have lost my ebay mojo. I think because there's too much stuff to list.
I listed 24 things yesterday, mainly books that probably won't sell as they're text books, so the wrong time of the year really.
Hopefully 24 things would count as at least 1 bag, I'm going to do another lot today.
Can you put me down for 3 bags a week
On the FLW, you can't use anything other than the sell your item form directly on ebay, so no Turbo lister or auctiva.
When I'm being organised though I list the dearer stuff & schedule them to start the furthest time away it will let you do, on the FLW, I edit the listing to upload immediately. You then get the listing free.
On bits that only have 1 free picture, I upload the extra pics to http://jpegbay.com/ & put the extra pictures into the text.0 -

That's great advice, thanks! I never knew you could schedule for a later date without being charged and then change it the day you want to start when it's a free listing day! I shall try that0 -
Welcome CupcakeLisa , hermum  I have added you to the list
Hi Bunnie1982 - Congratulations on opening up your selling account and well done on already getting bidsIt gets rather addictive watching bids and watchers on your items
Would you like me to add you to the list for a bag a week to start off with ??
I think you have done the correct thing by checking listings that are already listed for the items your selling { I always do that and after a while you have a rough idea how much things sell for without checking}
What I tend to do before I list is check in completed listings how much items I am going to sell have sold for . This way I can see which get more cash / bids . For example the more detail / keywords you use get more attention . I also find that if I am selling similar items at the same time I get more bids - so I try and list in the same category if I can . e.g If I have 3 pairs of shoes i will list these on the same week rather than one pair a week , if this makes sense
nicola00 Well done :T thats £20 extra for you this week ..It soon adds up doesn't it
hermum- Thanks for the link ....Handy to know for FLW for adding pics
I have posted over 30 parcels these last few days so im happy with that ...still waiting for 5 items to be paid for thow from Sunday
And I made an error as when I went to the po I had weighed a box incorrectly - it was over what I thought by 0.5 grams ....Too big to take home so cost me an extra near enough £5 to post ....so ate up my profit on that item :eek:
Ive my bag ready to do today so I will be getting my listings ready todayEbay Bag A Day Challenge 2012- :staradmin

hi everyone, i am not part of this challenge so hope you dont mind me posting here
i am starting ebaying last month for the first time, and was just wondering for the people who put 20+ items on at a time , how do you post them? i do about 7 at a time and list once a week and this is because the first time i went to my nearest post office with 12 parcels, the guy behind the counter was so angry at me! it took him AGES to get them all sorted, by which time a massive que had started and people (mostly elderly) get so annoyed waiting! how do you send off all your packages? thanks for any advicexx

Im sorry, are they not a post office? Where people bring things to be POSTED??? I don't see how it makes a difference if you post one thing or post 12 things, you are paying for it!! Would the staff rather nobody posted things? Would that keep them all in a job and keep the place open? Yes posting several things takes longer, maybe the guy needs to work quicker, I posted about 15 things the other day and it took about 7 minutes in total. It really only takes about 30 seconds per parcel, the guy at your office is obviously just slow!
As for the people in the queue behind you, bloody well ignore them! You have just as much right to be there as they do! If they don't want to wait behind you then they can leave and come back, or they should have been there earlier to get in front of you :rotfl:Can't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
I agree totally. I made the mistake of going to a local little post office once instead of my usual and apparently got 'cover' staff. They were so rude because i had 3 small parcels to post, that i'd even written out my own proofs of posting for etc. They were actually talking to each other whilst serving me, saying how terrible i was for wasting their time and that i was making 2 people behind me wait, despite the fact i'd let somebody in front of my whilst in the queue to pay for a paper. I was so upset, i've never been back since. I couldn't believe how rude and ignorant they really were. I'd have lost my job if i treated our customers like they did me.
I mainly go to the bigger town post office now where they're all lovely and really helpful. It annoys me in these situations because at the end of the day you're going to a 'post' office and paying for a service where the majority of the other people in the queue seem to be collecting benefits, paying for car tax, passports etc. that in theory could be done elsewhere or by other means. I can't post things elsewhere and i'm willing to pay and queue with the best of them.
Phew... sorry for the mini rant, it bought it all back to me hehe :cool:0 -
Keys - too bad about the postage booboo but on the plus side a big item out the way
Specialk some smaller post offices get suprisingly funny, so much for trying to support your local community! A couple of weeks ago i had to use a different post office to get my car tax so i took four parcels with me and i said to the woman, by the time she got to the fourth one she said "so much for only having a couple"I considered this to be rather rude of her so i then went back to my car and got my other 14 parcels that i was going to post at my usual post office. Let an old guy move in front of me then i just "happened"
to get served by her again...you should have seen her face when i held my bags up and said "it's not just a couple this time it's considerably more" :rotfl:
That being said i do usually try to limit myself to posting about 10-12 parcels at one time, my main post office is a sub tesco branch so if i have loads i just take one bag with me, post them, go into tesco to do my bits then back to the car and get the second bag & post them. The first couple of times the staff were like weren't you here half an hour ago but i explained i had a lot of things to post and didn't want to be responsible for holding the queue up too much and now i'm know as the "nice girl that sometimes lines up twice" :A
Rambling over i've also listed 1 bag's worth of stooof today. :T
sleepless2012*1 A DAY on Ebay*Jan 31/31PLUS 24 EXTRA= 55
Feb 29/29 PLUS 21 EXTRA = 50March 11/31 PLUS 2 EXTRA = 13 £365 in 366 days = 91/3660 -
I had 12 parcels to post today from last nights listings.....I was about spot on with sale prices so another £20 after fees. £40 for Feb so far
I also made a boob on 2 of my smaller items that I thought I could get away with sending as Large Envelope had to go through as parcel.... so about £1.50 lost there
I use a small local PO and I do get grunts and groans from the folk behind me, but that's just how it goes.
The two guys in my PO aren't the happiest of folk at best of time an I don't think I help, but they have never been rude or anything to me, they just kind look at me like are you here again!!!!
If I'm taking a lot I always have them in plastic bags separated into 1st, 2nd etc.... and or smaller packets and large. There is a shutter door that I put the bags through and they collect at the other end , then they just work through a bag at a time. I have in the past went with 30+, in fact last week I went with 33, and because it was busy behind me I left the parcels with them and estimated my postage at £60 so left them £65 and said he could do them when he had the chance and I'd be back the next day for receipts change etc, I have done this a few times before and always leave an extra £5 pounds more than I think it should be, hoping this will build up a trust, and I always go back next day as promised
At the end of the day, its their job and your providing an income of sort, no customers, no jobs
I think as you go back more they'll get used to you and don't forget to smile, if you still feel a bit put off have a quiet word with the PO staff next time your in with a few parcels and ask them what they would suggest the best time to go if you have a lot to post and tell them that if you can make it at those times you will0
