In answer no I am not connected with either company. Read my comments I am only raising my concerns that legal action between these companies may hurt customers. All the products are good but as a whistleblower people need to know what is going on.

Can you supply any evidence online to this legal action?? or anything else to backup your claims??

For me the evidence of things changing and no updates currently is enough to put me off. Safeandsecure may be unable to give further info without compromising their identity and may have already said too much and put themselves at some risk being a whistle blower.

Look at the new Talex site, it is on about selling subscriptions http://www.talex.co.uk/ I sent them a message to ask about the apparent U-turn but no response as yet.

The offer was made to entise Talex customers over to the new Novus company. It was stopped by the administrator and the link closed.

So we have to take thier word with no evidence to back it up... Could be a dissgruntled ex TALEX employee.

Interestingly the links were removed, but are still currently active.

As I said, evidence in the free updates U-turn and the whole debacle of things changing. Novus have their opportunity to respond anyway, which I hope they take. No news is bad news. May be best to call them as they may respond quicker than by e-mail, but I don't have the time at the moment unfortunately.

Then how come someone on this forum found a test mode on the GPS rider that when used it announces "Talex System Active".. If they dont own/have permission for the talex brand then how can they get away with just rebranding thier systems... Surely theft??

You are giving the impression you know more than you are saying so therefore are you an insider????

I say again I wish I could say more.........I will try but I have to watch my own neck. Again the info regarding the Rider start up proves where the data comes from.........I repeat again this is only going to get more messy...

But why?? they would be gaining nothing from offering free databases unless your TALEX/TALEX LITE broke and you wanted the same device.. Not a great strategy.. In fact it would be better just to advertise the fact that thier system was the same but with free updates then people might just switch as then you are saving money in the long run.

So you have no connection with either company which only leaves you as involved as one of the administrators if your kneck is on the line..

well no you don't have to take their word for it, but based on what i have read so far i would be cautious if you seriously couldn't risk wasting your money.

They kept no secrets about it, it says "READY TO GO WITH AWARD WINNING TALEX DATABASE INSTALLED" in big letters on the box. But if Novus don't have the rights to the system itself or the database, then something is wrong.
