I have been watching the post for a while now and have picked up a lot of information. I to have been getting those emails from Adam and can’t believe what is said in them. I also can’t understand some people on here. The main person is smstext!! If you don’t like the Novus database don’t use it, it’s that simple. I personally believe that it is a very good one and has picked up all of the cameras around where I live. I also do a lot of travelling up to Scotland and again it has picked up most of the cameras. However there was a couple they missed, but this was quickly corrected when I rang Novus and gave the location of the new cameras.
I personally cannot comment on the Talex database but by the look of the emails that he sends, i believe that all he wants is your money, when there is a great database there and its free I don’t see why people would go to Talex.0 -
I have tried both since my talex subscription taken out before they went bust still has time to run.
In my area neither were 100% but any difference was certainly not worth £25 a year simple as that.0 -

Firstly mate i work as a professional driver thus u have time to test many different databases, i am not impressed with the novus and havent used if for quite a few months now. they have taken out many mobile sites that are still active. they have a short 500 yd range on 70mph traps where as talex has a 1000yd range to name some of the differences. its not hard to get an old database and change the version number. other sites have members who have been watching the size of the download and beleive me novus one hasnt got much bigger.
I also have two novus products (were originally talex) and i cannot shift them for love nor money as no one wants novus products thus why tesco's (for one) dont sell them anymore.
Fair enough if you want to use novus cos its free, but how do you think they pay for staff to go round checking 250k miles worth of road for new sites? thats why talex (road angel, morpheous, etc) charge a subscription fee. you could base it on petrol, if you gave out free petrol everyone would come to you, but would you be able to run as a business? i know what i think but i guess you would think yes. More to the point on here i think is the fact that false information is being given and you all fall for it. lastly if you dont like AB's emails click the bloody unsubscribe button Doh:money:yes the talex updates will work but you have to pay for them. If the novus data seems fine in your area and is free there hardly seems any point in paying talex £25 a year.
once again wrong, the rider will not work with talex updates as it is programmed slightly different to the delta, however the delta device will work on either novus or talex database (subscription enabled of course).0 -
unsubscribe does nothing to change the contents of blair's emails which are full of inaccuracies, falsehoods and inflated exagerations of his "so called" "new" information that has been on the web for weeks or months before. No legitimate outfit would resort to marketing like that... SIX MONTHS on and they can't even provide a rudimentary website you could write in a day.0

may i suggest that as a professional driver you concentrate on your driving a little more rather than using all your time to to 'test many different databases'
on the subject of false information i note that you have not used the novus database for 'quite a few months now'. Very interesting considering on the 17/6/08 you posted that you had used the novus the week before. I do think you should try to be more consistent as it would appear that you are attempting to mislead the readers of this thread.
As to getting rid of the novus/talex products i suggest you sell them on eBay. they still attract a lot of interest i would however in order to get a good price suggest that you are a little more circumspect in your item description!!
(Perhaps ask A.B. for advice??)
IMHO no organisation could go round checking 250k miles worth of road often enough to be effective. and why should they. in some areas the police and councils list the sites of safety cameras for you!
I realise that you think you (and AB) are the only ones marching to time and that the rest of the army is out of step but i for one find your information increasingly hard to swallow. Final comments, to add swear words to your advice to another member and a poor homer simpson quote does your cause no good and indeed could be seen to weaken your argument. It is better to contemplate writing a malicious comment that can make you appear stupid, than to write and confirm it.0 -

yes i tried it over one weekend but nothing seemed to be updated on it and was more a hinderance than a help.
I have tried numerous times to sell the talex elite (now a novus product) but no one wants to buy it on ebay, however i can pick up cheap talex units for about £20 on their at the moment where no one wants to buy them.
As for you saying pay more attention to the road, its a but hypercritical comment to make for someone looking on a thread for a device which you are insinuating causes a distraction. I am a professional driver who has passed the IAM advance driving test and many other tests. I am tested and assesed 6 monthly to a higher standard than most drivers on the road. when was the last time you had a driving assesment?0 -

unsubscribe will stop you getting all worked up over his emails. how on earth do you think most marketing companies get their info? not by the web is it? many people dont know how to find out this info so all he is doing is using this to his advantage. Sure you and i wont buy most of the products he is trying to sell in this way, but i can guarantee there are enough stupid people who will. I know for one you do this, find information out on various threads about talex/novus and if its not been posted on another forum you post it there. nothing wrong with that i hear you say, but this is basically what blair is doing but with email.
But then we could move onto the post you made saying a novus unit that works on a different o/s inside being compatable with the talex database which wasnt true. you soon edited that post when it was pointed out to you.0 -
you soon edited that post when it was pointed out to you.
it was wrong because I was thinking of the delta instead, and I haven't edited anything above... but then that accusation is about as accurate as the rest of your talex puffing, as well as the pgps story where their download records also showed your claims to be without foundation.0 -

And then proved that you do not tell the truth! Now like most people of that disposition you have resorted to the ‘my dads bigger than your dad’ argument with your I am a better driver than you insinuation, Even if I believed you the fact that you may be an advanced driver your comments are no more valid than any other member of this forum. People of this ilk always like to have the last word so let me help you.
Say what you like in reply as I will not respond. It is my belief that the majority of this threads readers have seen through you and have tired of your behaviourIt is better to contemplate writing a malicious comment that can make you appear stupid, than to write and confirm it.0 -
I see ADAM is touting his new laser detector again. Now its supposed to work with all major sat navs AND it looks like the radar gun technology has taken a backward step as he says it takes 3 seconds from the laser hitting your car until they can get a speed. So enough for you to get your speed down.0
