Yeah I managed to get the 8016 this morning, turned out I had a problem with my USB hub, Works fine.

My talex lite subscription is still only giving me 8015 as opposed to the free one on the Novus site for updating my Full Talex

I have just tried Talex site again and surprise have managed to update.I had to enter serial no and security no then click ok.It then downloaded ok,not as before saying not registered.Schools etc had disappeared from Novus download,will see if they are now active again with Talex download.

cheers for that beenloc6, I followed the process too, and unlike last week, after I input serial number and act key it let me proceed, and downloaded an update - it will be interesting to see if all the full features are restored...

is currently showing 8015 which is the same as the free novus update I downloaded a few days ago, so fingers and toes crossed I might get some of the full features back...

Interesting to note that the 2 'competitors' have almost identical database ID numbers !

Please could someone help me with some advice.A couple of weeks ago i purchased a TALEX lite with preinstalled database (ARGOS).Iwould like to update this with the latest download.I have read a number of posts about problems with the original TALEX website and its inability to upgrade,there is also talk of another site( NOVUS) which can also upgrade the lite.In your opinion which is the best site to upgrade from and why. Thanks for any replies.

Yeeeeeeh! My talex today announced the schools alert, after successfully updating it from the talex website yesterday evening.

Not sure how up to date the database, will check that on some new cams, however I have now got back the full talex functionality, with vanished when I updated from Novus, for the reasons mentioned earlier in this thread, ie novus update only places the talex lite update on the machine.

Still, a step forward me thinks, in so much a later database, and now full functionality back..

Suspect it's not the end of the story tho....

If you just have a TALEX lite i would and have downloaded the free database 8016 from them and it works fine....that would be your best option than spending £29.00 on a years subcription that still might go tits up,
You will need a data lead though these are available at Maplins or you could order one from Talex.
On the other hand I also have a full TALEX and updated that one too from NOVUS the down side with that one is I loose the school location warning,
While it's free use it, at the moment TALEX & NOVUS are using the same database, I wouldn't be suprised if they were really the same company looking to see which on takes of for the better, I have my suspicions

CraigT - did you also loose the compass and things like trip mileage when you updated from Novus.

Some users report having lost it... whereas some talex lite users say they got all the full talex functions (apart from schools)
