Downloaded no problem from Novus site onto my Talex Lite but it still missed a Mobile Site which is there regularly,so I'm not sure.

What do we know about Novus plans for keeping the database updated? Do they intend to have locally based surveyors like Talex did? I recently did a ROSPA renewal test and the examiner, an ex-traffic policeman, used to be the Talex surveyor for our area, but is no longer.

The thing is now I can't get it???
Just get message cant open serial port com 3
tried updating USB driver rebooting laptop still no joy.
anyone else able to download it??

Thanks. had not noticed that it had been updated. downloaded 8016 to talex lite with no problems

Well I tried the Novus/Delta update on my Talex (not the Lite version) and whilst it 'appears' to have updated the cameras I have lost compass, schools, height above sea level etc. data. To be honest to only function I REALLY miss is the compass which I used all the time. I am surprised this was affected by a database update but obviously that's how they configured it

Apart from losing all the non-Lite functions the database doesn't seem very good either. It missed average cameras on the A2/M25 (previously detected by version 7113) and warned me to reduce speed when travelling at 60 in a 70mph zone on the A12.

All in all not good. I am wondering (and would value other peoples opinion) if using the Novus utility back in December has changed my device in some way which now renders the Talex update utility unable to recognise it (hence the registration requests)

More junk mail for Adam Blair but no answers to my numerous telephone and email messages. This guy is a total chav, wouldn't trust him with a packet of crisps!

To be honest, I don't want all the extras. I put my Lite into normal mode once and the racket was too much. Where I am there are loads of 'possible mobile sites' and the continual warnings were driving me mad. I'm running my Lite in camera mode only which I find ideal.

It's also a pain with Novus to have to download a new application everytime and you don't know whether it's a new version till you run it.

Following the v8015 update, I'm getting a warning to slow down when I'm doing exactly 30mph in possible 30mph mobile camera zones. Only a small point, but very annoying.

Also, when driving on a motorway yesterday, apparently my speed was switching from 68mph to 98mph in split seconds!

That glitch has been in the Talex well before the Novus / tALEX Saga

I updated my Talex Lite following your post but I've still got v8015.

Anyone else managed to download v8016?

I downloaded it and the application front end says 8016. Not used it as I'm still under my old Talex subs.

Once that runs out I'll switch to the free ones.
