So far, I have been content to simply log in again when I want to post something. Sometimes I have to attempt logging in and / or clicking on reload several times before it works.
Now, each time the forum forgets that I am logged in, my screen reverts to the fixed width version (as you might expect). I hate the fixed width version so I keep having to log in to get the stretchy version back. The system is logging me out so frequently at the moment that it is making reading the forum messages pretty unbearable.
Anything that you can suggest to fix this?
I am using Firefox 9 at the moment but the problem was occurring with older versions of Firefox too.
I am having the same problem with Google Chrome 16.0.912.77 m (plus in Google Chrome I have problems editing my messages so I tend to stick to Firefox).
I have cookies enabled in both browsers.

P.S. I am using Windows XP Home Edition
I too used get logged out regularly. The only fix I have found for this is to tick the 'remember me' box when logging in.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Works OK here.
What error message? The search does sometime return a false null result, but that is an occasional glitch that has been happening for years now.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

it is an error message
:D it is a little more frequent now. Even long threads (and I have 40 posts), you can go up to two pages, the third, invariably, is received with the null result. i'm not a fan of long threads but if the search function is dysfunctional, meaning there's no solution for this ongoing problem since several years now, then, imo, we shouldn't have long threads.

Have been advised to post this here but not sure if it a glitch as such or not. When using IE it looks like this:
And when I use Safari I get this:
In Safari it looks 'right' but in IE its more squashed and also the text overlaps in places. In both browsers it is set to new masthead and fixed width and I have not altered any of the settings in either. Any ideas?Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death.

Thank you poly1 for posting the images.
This is the problem with the fixed size I was talking about in post #8. My screen shows as your top photo in both IE and firefox. I have never change the setting, or needed to before.£2021 in 2021 no.17 £1,093.20/£20210 -
The forum has got even slower, it can now take up to 10 seconds between pages and it is making surfing round the boards intolerable.0

That is odd, as it seems to be running at normal speed for me.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Most times I navigate to a new page within the forum I see a quick glimpse of the page with only blue text for each item on the masthead etc, no graphics at all
Sounds as if your machine was a tad slow downloading the CSS and image files that give the forums their rich appearance. Maybe your internet connection was having a bad day? If this is still a problem for you send me a private message. Thanks.
