When I quote a previous post, I don't now have any buttons to put parts of the quoted text in bold/italics/etc.

Thanks for your comment. You have your editor set to "Basic Editor" in UserCP -> Edit Options -> Message Editor Interface. If you select "Standard Editor - Extra Formatting controls" this should resolve your problem :).

Just a quick thank you to everyone reporting glitches. I dont understand most of it - but thankfully MSE Ian does and is doing a cracking job fixing it. :)

Thanks for the heads up. I rebooted a few things to be on the safe side and i'm now seeing on average load times of between 0.5 and 1.5 seconds. 0.5 for non-logged in users. So I hope things are working a bit better for you now. I'll be keeping an eye on it.

I have similar in IE 9

Specificaly if posting with copied text,

Only on this site, when i submit a new post does IE crash. Message states its due to DPE.

Strange how its only on MSE and not on any other sites i regularly use so I'm linking it to the update.

Every time it's crashed for me I've been copying a template from Word into the main body of the submission field - I am also using the IE9 Rendering engine in Avant Browser.

Thanks for this. We have tested with Safari on PC and iphone and both worked for us. What version of Safari are you using?

    Ian

    Hi Ian
3.1.2 version of Safari so I guess I need an update, but I'm on a MacBook Pro
    Thanks

The lag is not as long today, now down to about 4/5 seconds, I put it don to the facebook and twitter links at the top of every single page on the forum as during the delay in the page opening fully, I am shown the masthead before it jumps to the actual point on the page that I clicked the link for.

I am still seeing the same problem with the search boxes and button in the top left corner of the masthead, that has not changed from day one of the new layout.

Most times I navigate to a new page within the forum I see a quick glimpse of the page with only blue text for each item on the masthead etc, no graphics at all. It them seems to refresh and appears properly.
Not sure if its just a side effect of the forum running slower?

Using windows 7, Firefox 9 (using new masthead, fixed width, less bright)

Often when I am viewing the forum, it forgets that I am logged in. This has been a problem for quite a while. So far, I have been content to simply log in again when I want to post something. Sometimes I have to attempt logging in and / or clicking on reload several times before it works.

Now, each time the forum forgets that I am logged in, my screen reverts to the fixed width version (as you might expect). I hate the fixed width version so I keep having to log in to get the stretchy version back. The system is logging me out so frequently at the moment that it is making reading the forum messages pretty unbearable.

Anything that you can suggest to fix this?

I am using Firefox 9 at the moment but the problem was occurring with older versions of Firefox too.

I am having the same problem with Google Chrome 16.0.912.77 m (plus in Google Chrome I have problems editing my messages so I tend to stick to Firefox).

I have cookies enabled in both browsers.

    SS2

P.S. I am using Windows XP Home Edition

    Not ideal, but one way...
