:o)
Been to both Barcelona and Palma, though only on fleeting visits. They are both very lovely, Barcelona in particular. I'd really like to try somewhere new but Barcelona is great because you have the best of both worlds :j
And thank you for the tip about booking everything seperately, I must say I'm going to need to do a lot of research before I book anything as I really don't have the foggiest
Have you considered Menorca? Or Majorca? Lots to do/see and a wonderful climate and ok flying times. Plus very good medical facilities - I speak from experience lol0 -
Thrifty_Sister wrote: »OMG Fudge - how awful. I had never heard of Bechets until last year when I met a lovely lady who has it. Really hope there are some insurance companies out there that will cover you both without an arm and a leg cost but you will probably have to put in quite a lot of effort to find them. Good luck hun xxThrifty_Sister wrote: »Have you considered Menorca? Or Majorca? Lots to do/see and a wonderful climate and ok flying times. Awww thank you:) Mum was diagnosed at about 13, I was diagnosed at 5 so it's unfortunately just the cards we've been dealt and we do our best to get on with it. It can be a huge struggle but we try to keep smiling and are thankful that we have eachother :A
Majorca is LOVELY! We very much enjoyed it
When would people say is a good time of year to holiday? Budget wise and temperature? And what about board basis? Any holiday tips in general would be fab, as I said I'm very much an ammature!'There are people who have money and people who are rich' :heart2: Coco Chanel0 -

Book your flights directly. I made the mistake of not doing this, and found out that the travel agents i used, used their own card to pay for my flights, and became an utter nightmare to get my money back after my flight home got cancelled.
Crete is lovely, 4 hour flight but still lovely. We went end sept and it was lovely and hot without being too hot, apart from one day when it was 33 degreesI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. It can be a huge struggle but we try to keep smiling and are thankful that we have eachother :AMum's Bechets has become a lot worse in recent years and we seem to take it in turns to look after eachother! But she's looking after her father who has Alzheimers for the weekend and staying with them which is adding to the stress obviously. It would just be a million times easier to deal with everything if we had the support of a family but again, unfortunately I wasn't blessed with that. Father and sister couldn't give 2 hoots and are a complete and utter waste of space!:mad:

Personally speaking Fudgie I like to go May/June or September ish as its not too hot, not as highly priced as in the school holiday season and not as crowded. I also like half board as you get your main meals taken care of (breakfast/dinner) and can have lunch out or in the hotel so not being tied to full board. I think most places in Europe have good medical facilities on the whole (hopefully they won't be needed but its best to try to cover as many possibilities as possible) and its very much a question of personal taste. hth hun x0 -
EHIC card is as essential as travel insurance, and most definitely not the same thing! Agree about Greece - mainland and islands are beautiful but can be a bit dodgy as they have some 'quaint' ideas re plumbing and sanitation lol Yes, again speaking from experience. Esp Corfu which is well known for giving unsuspecting folks the Corfu carps lol0 -

I can reccommend Kos and Cyprus. Both very nice. I went Feb and May. Feb was warm but out of season, may was at very start of season so busier and hotter0
