Frozen snow  its glass ice  . When going visiting mum we go through local park normally takes 5 mins from one end to tother today :o it took 35 mins for us. Struggling ,i was feared stiff of falling and was like a geisha girl :rotfl:
Poppy hates it she whimpers and crys all the time big maud bottom she is. Coming home we came road way luckily ice only on one side of the pavements. I have ordered some ice grippers online so ice/snow will have gone for next week when they arrive. If it's still here will tell you how i get on walking with them on boots.
Kadison recommended them way back in this thread.

Used to work with a girl that walked to work with plastic bags over her boots whenever it snowed. Not sure whether it worked as I never tried it myself but would imagine you don't need to be bothered about looking a bit of a burk lol:D:D

:( Damn, it always comes at the worst times:( I admire your spirit and dedication to get away and try and enjoy it regardless. I'm sure the warmth and sunshine will be calming and healing for you both. But I will be keeping everything crossed that she's feeling much better by Weds :A

After 8 years of not going abroad, I've convinced my Mum to go away this year :j:D I'm so looking forward to it. We're probably going to be sticking with Europe due to the ridiculous amount we'll be charged for health insurance anywhere else. If anyone has any recommendations (or warnings!!) I'd be very greatful :Axx

We have used Age UK and found their prices to be reasonable. hth

Just went to T's didn't find anything exciting, while O/H was in the queue to pay I said I would meet him at the car as I was off wombling, I noticed there was several screwed up receipts by the SS tills as I did a quick look round the SA at the SS tills called security over and whispered something to him, when this bloke finished paying the the SG asked to see in his bag, there was an altercation and the bloke pushed the SG flying and legged it down the stairs with SG and other shop floor staff in hot persuit, as everyone was looking in their direction I quickly diped my hand in and pulled out a grand total of 148 points :) O/H comes over and says "you will do anything to cause a diversion while you womble"

I've been doing really well using my 9p fruit and veg bargains from Thursday. I sliced the lemons and limes and froze them, so I can get a slice or two out for drinks or cooking. Made veggie soup yesterday. I got a bag of cabbage and leek, and potatoes so today I stir fried the whole bag of cabbage, and I have kept half of it cooked ready to make bubble & squeak tomorrow. It's something I would have never normally bought, but it's really nice.
Still have celery, brocolli, satsumas and apples in the fridge, all of which look in good condition and should last a few days.

Yeah I remember the pics of them and it would be typical of the bad weather to disappear the day you get them delivered

Might be worth signing up to which for a free trial. I found it was best to call them as I got 2 months for £2 and 2 copies of their mag. They did a feature in the dec 2011 one. Makes intresting reading. hth
Does your mum have pre exsisting medical conditions ?
