Grrrrrr Rant Alert
After hearing on the news this morning that Tax Credits are only going to be awarded for working over 24 hours a week I thought I'd get my act into gear and do something before April.
I work 18 hours a week (have asked for more contracted hours but not heard back). I do mystery shopping as self employed so I thought I'd get my spreadsheet up to date, work out a rough number of hours I've done so far this year and see how many hours I would still need to do to make up the extra 6 average hours per week.
So I've been going through bank statements, pay slips, web sites etc for the last 4 HOURS:( ............... computer crashed and I've lost the lot!
I'll be starting again tonight but could someone please put regular reminders on here for me, something along the lines of "Mharzuk you are neither smart nor clever". Thanks:(
oh dear hun...hope you manage to catch up and it works out you've done enough extra hours.....as for the last sentence...i think quite the contrary....you are smart and clever to be trying to sort this out in advance and to ensure an income for you and your family.....if you werent smart or clever you'd either leave it til the last minute or moan when your tax credits are reduced
so well done you.....now crack on and get that paperwork sorted :rotfl:hoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!0 -
Added you on facebook Happy - providing much needed levity to my days ATM, thank you :beer:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

The AA are awful like that, I never 'renew', instead I get a new membership online each year, they needn't think I'm paying £121 when new members get it for £67 or thereabouts (going on last year's roadside relay prices):eek::eek:
I change each year i.e. one year AA with cashback through quidco or topcashback, then RAC next year same cashback, I have never paid more than £10 per year for basic breakdown cover . usually costs about £30 but usually cash back on offer about £20, I dont believe in staying loyal as they have never been loyal to me!:p
thanks for your kind wishes about kids and to everyone who gave me virtual hugs and kind words.....well wonders never cease but ex has amazed me by having insurance!!!!! 21 years of marriage and he never did! emergency passport took 4hours so they are currently in a travelodge in heathrow and taking a flight early tomorrow. Kids are a bit upset by the whole theft thing but hopefully their short break will be enjoyable and they will forget the horrible start. thanks elite members - I sometimes wonder what I would do if I didnt have you lot to whine to!
My son saw phoebe's photo the other day and asked me was I now actually looking at finding a baby on glitch !!!!
without thinking I said no its' a friend's baby....... thats how I think of you all but better than real life sometime as none of you whinge when I dont keep up with your news or when I forget who said what and when. You are more interesting than my real life friends most of the time lol and I can swith you off when I feel like hiding away!
hugs ....off to catch up ...by which time I will probably be too drunk to reply

Not Tesco related but a bargain for sure. I've been on Amazon and seen these Golddigga Penny Low Pull On Boots for £14.44, should be £40 ish. Got an extra 20% off by using code NOWGET20.
Just ordered mine

got what I've been looking for for ages, the salt & pepper balls 63p:T:T:T
Oh Nikkilala, I think I saw those today, were they in a box together or just loose on the shelf? Do they have a little rabbIt face on them?
Ive got some cheap battery operated ones from Wilkos with a little light that comes on when you grind, (obviously for seasoning in the dark:rotfl:) but the little bulb keeps falling out into my food, so really need a new pair!
...was it 63p each or for the pair? (not that Im a tight bum of course, just askin'!)0 -
Not got long so quick disjointed post.....
am currently on orange network...racoon 400 but got loyalty minutes and texts so have 800 mins 300 txt blackberry package and unlimited landlines for £25 per month (plus their increase but not had latest bill yet).
contract is about to end so will lose my loyalty stuff so will go back to normal racoon tariff unless I negotiate with orange for some more loyalty on renewal but last year they were useless at giving me the phone I wanted.
Decided to do a bit of groundword today so went into orange shop, P4U and carphone warehouse.....
Offers.....
orange said ring retentions as they couldnt do much.
Carphone warehouse offered blackberry 9900 (I prefer BB's) for £32.50 a month (500mins, unlimited texts, unlimited landlines, BB services)
P4U offered 9900 for the same or if I had the 9790 they would give me £100 for my old phone
I then popped into T-mobile (their network is shared now with orange so I thought it was worth giving them a try). firstly the guy couldnt do much but I then asked him to think outside the box and see if he could come up with something alittle different and he came up with this...........
500 mins, 250 texts, unlimited landline, unlimited internet (500mb i think that is) for £23 a month on an i-phone 3gs 8gb.
I'm not a big i-phone fan but never had one......but I'm open minded and money is tight and that 240 quid cheaper over the course of the contract.
I'm off out now but would appreciate any comments and thoughts anyone might have to help me out here.
Cheers peeps!!!0 -
