I feel a little strange, as if I was running on adrenalin until I sat down on the train home and then someone burst my bubble??!...
It was all very smooth, the clerk was very frosty though and I didn't get to see the judge, but I did meet and chat with a Father and Son who were so nice - we stood outside the court in the lovely sunshine wishing each other the best and good luck for our futures - brand new BRs!!
I would've posted earlier but I've just spent the last hour in a panic trying to find my camera so that I could take a picture of my gas and electricity meters! - Found it in a "safe place" eventually!
I now find myself worrying that my mobile will be switched off and my light and heat will be extinguished along with my phone and internet connection and fretting about how I will look for a job and pack up the house without them all....good grief....
As with everyone else, the OR will call within 24 hours to give me an interview date etc - however, I sign on tomorrow and they've decided that it's the day I'll have the "How well are you looking for work" interview, knowing my luck the OR will call while I'm in there! I can't move it to friday either as my Mum has an appt that day......
Oh dear - I am going on aren't I?!
I think the rollercoaster effect is in full swing but I'll feel much better tomorrow
Jayk I really hope you have your OR interview soon and then you can relax and move on to a new year xx
If - I'll eventually get the hang of the pikkies - but I'd love to pop in anyway, thank you xx
Dojoman - could I officially join the Feb BR club now please?
Best wishes to you all

I'm so pleased it went well and it really takes a while to settle, but your free of those debts now.......life really does begin again!!

Flo - Massive congratulations to you :j:rotfl::j:rotfl::j:rotfl::j:rotfl:
Well I'm now 2 days in and have my OR interview booked in for Monday. I still feel like i'm on a roller coaster sometimes feeling relief and then at other moments really worried about the upcoming interview. Not really sure why I'm getting so uptight about the Or interview, I have now spoken to my OR twice and he's seems really nice and helpful:D
Jayk - I hope you get a date for your interview soon (I for one can't wait to get mine over and done with).
Thanks again to everyone on here for all their support. Cliche I know but it really does help to know your not going through this alone.0 -
Im currently trying to help my partner with his impending bankruptcy, he will be printing off the forms tomorrow and we will be filling them in tmoz nite.
Im really nervous that the judge will not allow him to go bankrupt, plus we still havent managed to gather the fees together to actually go bankrupt yet!How insolvent people are expected to find £700 ill never know!!!
He owes around £15,000 in credit cards and £25,000 in loans, he has a joint mortgage which is in negative equity, it would be such a relief if he can be relieved of these. The only problem is he has other debts to his family which will see have to be paid, he owes about £40,000 to a member of his family which we will never escape... :-(
Its crazy, we have nothing to live off, so i am just praying for his bankruptcy to be allowed. I dont know how common it is for the judge to refuse?
Hi. Welcome.
This post would better in it's own thread.
I'll move it into one and add a link below.

Thank you If and onmywayup xx
Perhaps once we all get the interviews over we will all feel better :T in fact I'm sure we will!
It's true isn't it, having the support of others who've been through it is an immense help.
I will never be able to thank this Board enough, I know I would never have been so prepared were it not for the generosity of the people on here, sharing info, support and humour - invaluable.
That's the positive outcome of all the stress and anxiety we've all been through, we'd never have met otherwise.
I'd like to think that I will be able to help people myself in the near future, once I've had a good night's sleep anyway!!
With love and thanks to you all

Yes we have to look forward now I intend to mark the days off on calendar. Still not sunk in yet- have my debts really gone just like that!!
Still be little hurdles along the way but knowing so many other decent hard-working people who never thought they would have to take this step are and have gone through this BR process is a help.
I hope to build on it all now and get well again and hopefully can find work again but right now know I am not there yet.
Today for the first time in ages I left my phone of answering machine. Would you believe only had the OR 1st call no creditors today- was all ready to give them the news!0 -
Jayk I hope you do have the satisfaction of telling them the news!!
I did have to laugh yesterday, my payments are only a week and a half late now, with DDs cancelled, and I've had 1 letter from the mortgage provider, 1 from secured loan but 3 from a certain big bank and their cc division, along with a phone call every day to discuss "banking matters", despite telling them I was talking to the CAB. I have now renamed them "N*£Pest"!!
As I was leaving for court yesterday they called, so I told them where I was going and that I'd write to them.
After court, I was giving my Mum the good news, and they called again so I read out my BR number etc and the slightly phased girl on the other end took all my details and told me that would stop the calls - haven't had so much satisfaction in a long time, particularly as I realise that I'd paid them at least £1.5k in bank charges that gave me no more perks than a normal free a/c would've done
I'll get my letters to my creditors, with copies of my order, written later today. I've been very lucky with my timing though, I haven't suffered the harrassment that you and others have had.
Feel so much more positive today, thank you again for cheering me up yesterday, I really hope you get your chance to tell them to erm......go away :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Good for you Flo glad you are feeling better. Glad you got to tell big bank.:j I was tormented by them for years making correct payments and as fast as I made a payment interest did not even make a dent on it. Have paid hugh amounts of interest to them all over years.
I am wondering if may be better for me to make copies of BR order and send to them all would let them know then. As may be some time before OR lets them know (dont know) one of them was going to take me to court so maybe better to send them a letter now.
Seem to remember a standard letter somewhere on this site do you know where?
Not heard when my telephone interview will be yet be glad to get that out of way. OR who spoke to me very efficient and fired quite a lot of questions at me in a very short space of time. Am okay with that its got to be done and worse is over ( I hope)
Good luck with sorting house etc. De-clutter is good for the soul I have gone mad sorting my place and got rid of so much junk and found things thought had lost! Remember new year- new start for so many of us.0 -
hi everyone,
just wanted to join the "club"
i have been on this forum for prob a year building up the courage to do what we are going to do
We have finally set everything up – coop account is now up and running, changed most DD and wages etc got all the fees and halfway through the forms and got our date set for next Thursday (cant say I am looking forward to it) but will be nice to get a step forward with the process
