You better get busy then - if you are planning to report every post which is "not helping" discussions on threads then that probably accounts for 75% of what is posted on MSE.

Sorry, I'm hating the fixed width as well and it's not the case that I would get used to it and like it 'in time', the stretchy fit was one of the things I particularly liked about the MSE forum and I find the fixed width on other sites intensely irritating. I frequently have more than one browser or page open at once, a stretchy fit can cope with that but the fixed width is a PITA.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Having such a daftly small fixed width setting results in parts of the forum getting squashed up to ridiculous levels.
Thread title boxes for example.

Not a glitch but a bit of a pain
The masthead boxes pop up menus keep obscuring the blue crumbline (or crumb trail or whatever its called). I'm not sure there is anything that can really be changed but I'm finding it a bit of a pain as I use the crumbline all the time.
Agreed. That is a real pain.
I normally block the masthead entirely on the forum pages, as it's just too much of a nuisance and a waste of screen space. This just reinforces that decision.
Really the breadcrumb trail should reside directly above that main forum toolbar.
As it is, a slight overshoot with the mouse brings that pop-up banner down and obscures the breadcrumb trail and all the forum tools.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

actually it looks perfect to me this morning :snow_grin
ah yesjust that my signature isn't fitting in aesthetically; other than that I cannot even imagine the older stretchy version anymore
I hope you'd offer an option to choose skin colors, set font colors, effects etc and peronalise it. I've thoroughly dismantled the windows new look, mine has a vintage lookIt is a hobby of mine

Never been to this part of the forum, but just had to come and say the fixed width is RUBBISH!

Martin On a different (very small and not very important) note as the fixed width looks okay to me on my small laptop but...... have you stolen the bullet points?? They show on the draft but when I press submit they disappearGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

Brilliant change, ok so it will take some getting used to but if it's in the name of you making the site more user-friendly altogether then its defintely a good thing, MSE was looking hugely outdated but hopefully now it's going to be decluttered and reach the 21st C! :j0

I don't like the fixed width, these days most of us have widescreen monitors - mine is only a 19" one but I still have two huge white unused columns at each side of my screen. The light background colour is bad on the eyes as well. I'm changing my width now, if it changes permanently in the future then so be it, I'll just spend less time on here as its much harder to read like this.
EDIT - I've just changed to stretchy format with less brightness and it is now much easier to read the site.2020 Wins:
