So, galloping through the work I have to complete before leaving at lunch time today before going to sort the house out. Including paying some rather large bills.:eek:
Carpets should be installed, curtains I am putting up and clearance of rubbish will be undertaken.

What a mission, house sorted for tenant to move into, now to await the bills. Letting agent should have the funds cleared into my account tomorrow so that will assist a bit.
One bill will not be paid as any plumber who left the kitchen sink with a message saying "do not use" as he could not be bothered to put a stop in the washing machine outlet - lazy so and so.
Then we had to clean the house for the arrival of the In-Laws. Ended up borrowing a hoover from the neighbours as ours died when the massive house cleaning extravaganza was underway.
So in addition to the outlay on the house we have to get the hoover fixed! It never stops does it?
Have to do insurance quote for DH car (seriously modified so won't be cheap and options are limited) and investigate bulk purchase of dog food and fish supplies also.
Right off to cook dinner. Why do I do this? Please can I have quiet life - just for a little while?Start info Dec11

Checking up on you missrir, I'm getting a bit worried about your blood pressure!
You deserve the quiet life and it will come, but not necessarily today. Hopefully, now you've got the place sorted out the new tenant will behave and you won't need to worry about things.
Have a dog snog - you know you want to...

Morning, well MIL and FIL arrived and it is FIL birthday today.
Had a brain dead moment - initial reaction "OMG total disaster in the Mr T stakes - £97 " But then I realised this was for 4 people not 2 for all eats for a week including cake and so on for afternoon tea for 3 (I am at work so I don't get this) - well a week except tonight (birthday dinner at the Chinese buffet) so half way through beating myself up I thought "oh b888er it, that is fine"
Tenant has been on phone the living room wall lights are apparently not working. So told her to phone British Gas as have big insurance policy with them - which she has done and she will let me know what happens tomorrow. Just hope it is something obvious and simple and no more expense. If it is I will still have to pay but it will be more off the previous tenants deposit!
Had a bit of a chat with her, she loves the house and the update and clean that was done and wants to stay for a few years. All good news, but I have yet to get the money from the thieving lying so and so agents
Work is work, mad as it has been for weeks now, it needs to let up and give me a break. I have Friday off to go with DH for a weekend away for our birthdays (Gr**p*n deal - tres cheap and bought before the reality of finances was discovered).Start info Dec11

STILL no money in my account from the agent, despite the fact they had the money as cleared funds FRIDAY in their account :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Have just made an investigative call to them asking if there is a problem and pointing out I have to protect the deposit so they need to cough up. Plus I need the money to pay the mortgage, and it is NOT their money - it is MY money.
Why do I have to get stroppy with people, why do agents take the mickey?
They have picked the wrong person to mess with here, I am serious if they do not cough up the full amount ASAP then I am going to the police and reporting them for theft. That should put a stop to their tactics. :rotfl: Will cost me time energy and effort though.:eek:Start info Dec11

You're going through the wars with these letting agents. How are they still in business, they're completely useless.
Stay with it, once you've got the money, you can tell them to sling their hook.
Is there some sort of regulatory body you can report them to?

Agree with Piq..they are useless at best and potentially profiting at your expense at worst. And presumably they are taking a steady 15% or so for their trouble??!!
Maybe save yourself the hassle and look after it yourselfz. Think you said it was a way away but even so it has to be a better option than this?MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hi
I do manage this myself, this is just a tenant finding service I use as I cannot be bothered with people not turning up for appointments when I have to drive an hour in each direction, and as I didn't trust the tenant (She was as much use as a chocolate teapot!) to be there I could not rely on her. I have had written confirmation they are sending it to me to be in my account Thursday. They have charged me VAT without giving me a VAT number so they need to be remedying that or I will report them to HMRC.
Trouble is tenant has to pay them deposit and rent so they take the money and then transfer to me. I now need the money and they are keeping it, which is unreasonable and unfair so they need to be coughing up.
Tenant seems happy and had another repair by BG - for a blown fuse in a plug! Seriously I wonder sometimes about people!Start info Dec11

You're on their case, that's the main thing and there is no way you're going to let it go. You will get your money and soon if they know what's good for them.
A fuse in a plug...:wall:oh dear...
