 is it me?
Last of the credit cards in for the month and DD all set up for next month to sort them.
Finally worked out the fatal flaw in the spreadsheet, if you enter the same number twice as a deduction your balance looks :eek:_pale_ AND you have a minor panic about being overdrawn and how this will mutilate up the debt free date
 this *may* have been operator error. :rotfl:Spreadsheet back to being healthy and (just about) in the black.
Good news today: was taken out for free lunch, very nice thank you and unexpected 30 minutes in the sunshine with some good company.
Bad news is I have been asked to fly to Kenya for dinner - one I have to present at. I ask you 9 hour flight each way for a 2 hour dinner that I have to speak at, hardly a good use of my time!
So, did a quote on BA - £3500 for the flights (business class if they want me to do that sort of trip thank you) and told them the hotel would be extra - oddly enough they are considering their options :rotfl:Now admittedly there are some cracking deals if you are prepared to 1. stay in a dodgy hotel and 2. get involved in a lay over on the flight but frankly I am not prepared for the length visit to faff about with connecting flights. Just wish I could get a few days over there for me - seems pointless to fly all that way and not see some big game for instance
Slowly slowly getting the reporting nonsense sorted at work but every time I have sorted one part I find a problem with the next step down the line so I have to stop, fault find, fix, write up the fix and then start the test again - very infuriating  simply do not think I am achieving a great deal. It is like banging my head on a brick wall (now there would be a good smilie - can we have one please?)Start info Dec11

What, this smiley..:wall:?
Quite right about wanting to see big game if you have to go to Kenya. Shame you can't get a couple of days staying over as your flights are paid for.
Free lunch and good company, nice one missrir. I can't help you with spreadsheets, they frighten me a little, I have one that works, but I don't know why or how...

Yes, that is the smiley in question - brilliant how did I miss it?
Kenya is a no go - they think it is too expensive, shame in some ways but not in others.
Another free lunch today and also getting paid to drive home (work issue en route so all good)
Panicing now about the deadline I have Friday but nothing I can do until I get the data to crunch and write up - I think Thursday is going to be a late one!
Spreadsheet back in sorted land and all is now better. However the £75 of diesel I had to put in the car today was not so great.Start info Dec11

I don't envy you the deadline, but having read your diary, it strikes me that you have the organisational capability to just get on with it and do it well.
Shame about Kenya, it would have been very tiring, just for a two hour stop, but shame all the same.

Ahem, so managed to drag my sorry backside to the gym last night for the weekly Step class amazing what a week long break can do to your stamina - trouble was then I got home starving and wolfed back a couple of biscuits so not sure that achieved a lot. I need back to the "use the gym every day in week" game otherwise it is going to go.
I actually really enjoy the buzz I get, plus it is about the only way I have of making sure I STOP checking the emails and I can't take a phone call when music is blaring out and I am huffing and puffing like a 100 year old smoker trying to "lift it, shift it" as the overly enthusiastic instructor demands from the front of the class. I have a feeling my legs are going to regret Step tomorrow, but just to be sure I am getting my money's worth I am going to the gym again tonight for the Legs Bums and Tums class - :rotfl::think:
In other news all bank accounts are now firmly doing what they should and I have retrieved the £2.14 from S*nt*nder. Quick calculate of the purse shows I still have £40 left so that means £40 extra for next month that I can either
a) save into the Anti-S*nt*nder fund or
b) spend on a little treat for me as it is celebration month
c) split between a) and b)
I know the MSE :Athing is to save, but I was only born once and as I have managed to save £20 by swapping where I get my hair cut I am tempted by c)then I can have a facial as they are on offer :T
So Doglet and I were taking the air this cold morning, before I cantered off to get the car serviced - lo and behold the black and white moggy that has been driving him mad every night in the garden was perambulating up the driveway - looking at the roof to the fat pigeon. He failed to spot either Doglet or I until Doglet was practically huffing in his ear where upon I witnessed a vertical takeoff, 180 degree spin and rear paw wheelie by a cat in about 2 nanoseconds :rotfl:
Stupid thing is Doglet only wanted tothe cat and wash behind his ears, as having been brought up with Maggot the blank Panther cat (19" at the shoulder - was definitely related to the killer wild cat somehow) and him being a mere 11" at the shoulder considers all cats to be superior and therefore he must submit to them.
Car has been serviced, apparently the reason it does not get anywhere near the published 70mpg is "because of the driver madam". Very well - you can have it back then was the response. Awaiting the service manager to call me back;) that should be an interesting conversation. His ears may hurt after that.Start info Dec11

Right DH finances sorted for the end of month bits, off to celebrate his birthday tomorrow and work. Work has been stressful and it's scheduled only to get worse this week despite it being celebration week for me. I am not looking forward to this at all, but I have support from on high so feeling vaguely positive.
I am officially domestic goddess the house is immaculate, the washing basket is empty, the ironing mountain has been levelled, the garden has been tamed, the grass has been dethatched reseeded and mown but not in that order, weeds have been dug up and the block paving has been weed killered, all plants planted and I have used all the compost some off it recycled from pervious years, the rubbish is in the car waiting for trip to tip, other car is clean and the brakes are done, had tea with neighbours, cooked dinner walked the dog and now having a g&t and chill to prep for tomorrow.
Dog is now being deflead and wormed as he has licked his butt solidly for the past 5 minutes.
No possible spare money this month than the £40 quid I snaffled and I need to look into cheap anti histamine meds. Would be nice to get some more plants for the 6 empty flower pots etc I have but guess that will wait for May now.Start info Dec11

Well it's one of those days when I cope but I wish people didn't try to push the boundaries when they are clearly marked.
