Just read a brilliant description on another forum which rings true as I am well known for getting 5 times more done in a day than most normal beans - "cleaning fairy on speed".

That about sums up my efforts this past weekend, and continuing with getting the house sorted.

What does OH think about you applying for a job with more travelling and potentially less time with him? I would say that his is the casting vote if you're not sure.

Many people will say apply for it as it's good practice for the interviewing etc. But I think you need to weigh up your personal life against any gains/disadvantages.

He reckons that there is nothing to lose by going for it and getting interview practice. However when it comes to the actual job and I am saying I would have to be on a train at 0630 and home at 2030 I am not sure he will like it. And I wont

Then the biggest risk is to your marriage. That's not a risk I'd advise you to take if the financial gains are so small, but ultimately, the decision is yours.

I have decided that the geography and travel is simply not going to work. I could have bashed out a "why I am fab and meet the specifications" letter and sent it in, but realistically I don't think I am going to be able to accept the job and make it work so why would I waste someone's time in assessing my CV and so on. It is a shame as I think the job would be great.
    Some other time perhaps?
I need to get some job hunting done I think - there might be something out there for me next year.
I had thought I had found a perfect job for me and local too, but the small issue on reading the small print is that they want a nursing qualification - for a quality management position! I ask you what is the relevance to this?

Well I forgot we hadn't paid the butcher for the meat. So £6.52 for veggies and £42.77 for meat, pies, pât! but that will give us meals for 12 dinners for 2 or food for all guests for the week. All local produce and small shops so not a penny to the big chains!

I love buying local produce too and I too feel smug at not giving anything more than I have to to the big supermarkets.

I bought my veggies from the local farm shop, they also supply local flour which makes wonderful bread. I spent nearly £20 in there today :o

We have a freezer full of easy food, more cake than you can shake a stick at and only the gloss work left to do in the hallway.
Seeing Family this weekend and buying my boots
DH paid a bit more off the loan and we have knocked a bit more off the end date for the smaller one.
Doglet seems OK but not joyous , think he is getting just that bit older to cope with poorliness
2013 going to be the year DH loses weight and cracks the spending habit (I have faith and hope ..... Just)
Having some quiet time even though ended up doing work, hoping I get some recognition and extra money from it when I get back but I am just grateful I have a job and get paid.

    So my aims for 2013:
Top up the slush fund a bit more
Get fitter and get the good standard trousers just a wee bit looser
Try to obtain a work life balance
Along sided this we have the seeming never ending spend less, clear debt aims. Budget for groceries et al is £300 per month, we shall see
